Game Thread - Wk 15 - Dallas Cowboys at New Orleans Saints (7 Viewers)

and head to head doesn't count either? Put a bag on your head.
First round bye and on track for HFA>>>looking for wildcard spot.

The dream is dead, and all so the Cowboys can hold off their choking for one week. So sad.
The dream should be to win the SB, why is that dead? You shouldn't type when you're bitter, it brings out the worst in you.Cowboys played well tonight in a very tough environement under tremendous pressure, give credit where credit is due. You'll feel better about yourself. The Saints aren't dead, they're capable of playing better, chin up.
The dream of every sports fan, other than their usual loyalties, was to have two undefeated teams meet in the Super Bowl. It's not very interesting to see a good team win the Super Bowl; that happens every year. A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to have two undefeated teams meet in maybe the biggest game ever, though, would be something worth waiting for. Though I have nothing against the Saints--in fact I like most of their players, in any other year it wouldn't bother me a whole lot one way or the other if they lose one week or even miss the playoffs completely. I just want to see something special happen. Now I'll be cheering for the Colts through the rest of the year, unless they happen to meet the Packers.Meanwhile I fully expect the Cowboys to squander this opportunity and lose their final two games. It will be as if they had a limited skill and luck supply to draw from and they wasted almost all of it on this game. You would just expect the team who was able to stop an undefeated season to just go on to be nothing more than a footnote, like the Dolphins in the Bears' 1985 season. Good luck with trying to prevent the inevitable, but I just don't know how you can see good things coming from the Cowboys after this game.

?????Can you please explain this? No doubt you are having a good but???
Superbowls won in the past have no effect on this season.

But yet Dallas not winning a playoff game in 13 years is this years team fault and all you hear about. It is amazing how only negative history counts when talking Cowboys.

That's because everybody except Cowboys fans has pure hatred for Dallas. It's my least favorite sports franchise, period. I'd love to see Dallas go 0-16 every year.

Nana

nana nana

hey ney goodbye

I gotta feelin'

Dallas goin' to the Super Bowl!

Merry Christmas Everyone!!!
:2cents: :lmao:
KEEP LAUGHING
I laugh too at any fan of any team in any year that thinks their team is goin' to the Super Bowl before the playoffs have even started.
Not to mention after ONE good game. One of the only good games they played this season.
WOW that is just a stupid comment, sorry but it is. Dallas even when losing have had a chance in the 4th quarter to win every time this season. Yes they could have played better but they have never been blown out this year and just have had some bad play late in games but to say one of the only good games they have played this year is just stupid and having blinders on.

Understood but very frustrating and just makes for some very immature posts

Cowboys to hold open try-outs for place kicker tomorrow, 9AM
Seriously. Who's going to kick for the Cowboys next week? I doubt it'll be Folk. Hell, I can make a 24 yard field goal in a domed stadium. :2cents:

nice game from the cowboys. they played like their lives depended on it. i credit them playing up to their potential for a change. they got up early and kept the pressure on with pressure on the LT. this is a good loss for the saints. they needed to be reminded of what desperate teams - playoffs, superbowl, etc - play like.

Well, it certainly doesn't make for compelling debate points, I'll grant you that.

I agree. One loss is good to help them keep focus. They are a very good team, and fun to watch.

Congratulations to the Cowboys. They played a great game, and deserved to win. I appreciate the fight in the Saints, and the better team won tonight.

The play of the Saints OL & DL does concern me. Dallas seemed to run on them at will, and and critical points in the game. Romo played a great game.

At this point, they still have a 1 game lead over the Vikings for HFA throughout the playoffs. Hopefully, they can rebound the next two weeks and keep that.

They lost tonight, but I still love my Saints.

Very classy and the Saints will be fine they should go 15-1 and have Home field but I can tell ya that really does not mean much but it is a great accomplishment. That team has a lot of heart and Brees is a monster. The defense will have to play better to go deep inn the playoffs though. Good luck the rest of the way.

I only wondered if they were going to cut him before they flew back to Dallas.

Yep, they still have a great season going. Dallas had to play about as good as they could and only won by 7. Hopefully they can meet up in the same place much later on in the season.

i had to remind myself that it was all-pro ware that was coming over the top each time. they've held up well against other teams' pressure. the other side of that is minnesota has a as good or better a d-line than dallas. this is a cause for concern but it can be fixed. i tend to think having shockey in would have helped but whatever. the saints defense struggled. rookie jenkins was burned time and time again. the line struggled to get pressure on romo and, when they did get after him, he was able to make them pay. all of that said, the played much better in the second half and held the cowboys to a single TD in the half. they made adjustments, made plays and helped the saints offense make their comeback.

that was a horrific two-minute drive.

bad timeout with 11 minutes left. no need to save 40 seconds there.

game was lost at the end of the first half - brees INT, brees fumble. get some points on those two drives and its a different outcome.

That was a pretty impressive win by the Cowboys. Brees never looked comfortable all night due to the pressure on him, and even when he wasn't hit he seemed hurried and his passes were off. Congrats to the Cowboy fans here.

Part of me is glad we lost a game so we can concentrate on the bigger prize. Brees looked uncomfortable all night and Romo was in the zone. All the credit to Dallas. As bad as Brees and Co. looked last night, we still had a chance to win it. Payton and the staff got out coached and that 2 minute drive was not what you would expect from them. My hats off to Dallas. The biggest problem in the game for me was the play/scheme of our CBs (Jenkins in particular). 3rd and 7 and we are playing 10 yars off the line of scrimage and back petaling at the snap. That critical 3rd down was the easiest 1st down pick up all night.

:goodposting: Those were the kinds of stops the Saints had been making in earlier games. THAT was what I saw as the biggest turnaround in their defense from years past and last night it wasn't there.

Chance for us to be Spoilers again next week. :banned:

I saw somewhere in this thread, that somebody mentioned that the TD pass from Brees to Moore "may" be ruled a rush when it's all said and done. I've watched it a half dozen times (DVR), and Brees is CLEARLY INSIDE the 10 yard line when he passes it back to Moore, who's CLEARLY ON/OUTSIDE the 10. It sure looks like a lateral. Keep an eye out for possible scoring change.

Having HFA in the playoffs doesn't mean much?

Seriously?

The coolest thing about this win is it appears to be going to help to keep the Vikes/Giants game meaningful in week 17. If the Cowboys do slip up, that gives them a shot at still being a game up on the Giants. We can also root for the 49ers over the Eagles a little more safely as like the Giants they would have held a WC tie-breaker over Dallas.

sure every team wants it. Look back at the percentage of the top seed getting to the SB it may not be as automatic as some may think. I SAID IT WAS A GREAT ACCOMPLISHMENT but it does not mean you are going to the SB.
