week one: D. Garrard 16/21 170 yds 3 td 0 int. Yes the opponent was Denver, but is FBG right on Garrard a year too late? Is he a serviceable qb2 from here on out?

About as good as mine with Stafford and Roethlisberger. I may look to Hass next week too. I may play matchups for a few weeks until Ben is ready.

I wouldn't put too much stock into Garrard's performance today. He wasn't facing the most stringent defense.

Garrard is Garrard..he is who he is. A guy who can win you a few games and lose you a few all on his own.

I think the number of defensive injuries that Denver has had is going to make them a darling for opposing football players this year.

When I read this I can hear Charles Barkley, or Caliendo doing Barkley. "Turrible, just turrible..."
Garrard is a mid-range, solid QB against suspect defenses at home. If he had a better WR core, maybe. But he is what he is.

He was "for real" in a couple of games last year too. Still a good bye week fill-in, but until I see more I can think of 12 other QBs I'd rather start.
