McCown was 11/19 yesterday. What were the circumstances that got him playing time? Did he then get hurt?

What's going on in Jacksonville at QB? When should McCown be plucked from the wire?

Not sure of the specifics but Garrard threw 4 INTs and Jax was getting blown out. Seems like a good time to give the backup a quick look see.

David Garrard had another poor performance which included multiple INTs. The team could not move the ball at all. McCown came in late after the game was out of control and did appear to hurt himself on a QB run. Garrard came back in to the game to throw a garbage time TD to Sims-Walker.

In my opinion, you should steer clear of the Jaguars QB as usual.

In 2 QB leagues there is always value for a starting QB.Just curious how close, if at all, Jax was to making a change. And if so, how did McCown look in this game and in the pre-season. How would a change impact MSW and Mike Thomas etc. Trying to be ahead of the curve.

I had to pick up McCown as a precaution last week in a 16 team league where I lost Kolb to head injury and Garrard was my only other rostered QB. There aren't any starters on the WW.

I didn't watch the game yesterday, but as an Eagles fan, I caught the entire Eagles-Jags preseason game, and McCown shredded the Eagles secondary. He looked MUCH MUCH better than Garrard who was beyond awful in that game. McCown looks capable, and with Del Rio firmly in the hot seat, I wouldn't be surprised to see him go to McCown as a last ditch effort to save the season and his job.

I don't think he's a bad pickup for those of you in large leagues or start 2 leagues.

I tend to agree. Unless he's hurt. Anything on that?

There's no reason to think Garrard will hold down this job all year; although I'm not sold that McCown will offer much more from a fantasy perspective.

At this point in time Garrard has no upside at all. Time for JAX to start exploring other options at QB.

The Jags have no other QBs on the active roster. They've got Brett Ratliff (0 career pass attempts) on the practice squad, and Trevor Harris (Division II QB) was with them in training camp. Todd Bouman was cut last season.

Maybe they'll re-sign Leftwich when Roethlisberger returns to Pittburgh?

The Jags re-signed Todd Bouman and put McCown on IR earlier this week.

Garbage?Why not just say that he is a bad quarterback? Do you need to insult him? No big deal it's just weird that people seem to get so angry over these things.
