Gates vs Winslow... who has a better year? (1 Viewer)

Gates has started out slow while Winslow has had a great season so far. Obviously the loss of Drew Brees has hurt Gates, and Frye has shown some ability to find the open receiver.

In your opinions who has the better final year stats (assuming both stay healthy)?

KWII ........... Gates life at the TOP of FF is done!
  AG is far too talented to be held in check and Rivers is still targetting him a lot. His production will increase and at the end of the year folks will be either thanking their lucky stars that they stood pat, or that they bought Gates low.As for KWII, his going to finish close to the top as well. But I have trouble thinking that he's going to put up consistant stats in that offense, in an extremely tough defensive division. I own both is seperate leagues so I'm not biased either way, I hope they both do well. But I'd feel much more comfortable with AG on my team from a week to week standpoint than with KWII.Some could easily argue that SD's offensive schemes are bland, but I heartily disagree with anyone who says Gates' involvement will decrease. If anything, it's going to get better and better. They have a team capable of challenging for the AFC title, and while Marty went uber conservative last week, I don't expect him to make that same mistake again this season.

KWII and Braylon Edwards have had 45% of all the balls thrown, thrown to them. KWII is getting lots of targets, which in turn means he will have lots of chances to make plays. CLE will be losing most of their games, and with poor running game they should be great fantasy contributors. SEE Arizona Cardinals last year for an example of a bad running game, who constantly played from behind. They had two of the best FF players in all of football......so it can happen!

Gates is no more talented than Winslow. I'd check out who is getting targetted more often to make a good call on it. I believe Winslow is seeing more targets.I'd say Winslow will post higher numbers unless he gets injured. His knee has been acting up again but he seems willing to play through the pain.

I'm sure we could debate this all day. I've seen both play a good bit and I will respectfully disagree. As for targets, I believe Gates is averaging around 8 targets/game. I don't have time now to look up KW's. But they are probably pretty close. As for this quote:

ou're not very familiar with this coach, are you?
Yes, quite familiar, and I think he's a good coach. Conservative by nature perhaps, but not stupid enough to go THAT conservative with 1 score lead again this year. I'm sure he's going to loosen the reigns a bit as well on Rivers.

At the end of the year it will come down to who got in the end zone the most. Advantage Gates and the Chargers offense creating more of those opportunities for Gates than the Brown's offense for Winslow.

Love the coach comment. Marty is great in regular season but post season he is in serious trouble. Remember this is the guy who let Gannon and Bree's go while starting people like Elvis Grbac, Steve Bono. KWII is half the offense in cleveland and as long as Frye is mobile I feel the edge goes to KWII. Better situation in my opinion.

Marty's never been the personnel guy. Blaming him for guys not being on his team is fairly ignorant. I'm not even sure of its relevance to this conversation.

Anybody that thinks Marty wanted to let Bree's go is crazy.KW2 has a shot to outperform Gates, but he has to stay healthy. Anybody selling Gates short this early doesn't understand the obscene talent this guy has. Rivers just needs time to get in sync with him and Gate's numbers should be back to normal. If I'm a Gates owner I wouldn't make a straight up trade but it wouldn't take a whole lot to convince me to make a deal.
