Get it On! Rookie Draft Discussion Thread (2 Viewers)

No, not yet.The only reason for Miami to trade up is to get an OT in the early second. They need to do it then, though.
Yes they do need to it then just getting anxious with some of the players that are slipping

McGahee is waiting around for nothing. Because I've been soooo right about all of this :D , I will go out on a limb and say that McGahee won't be picked before the 45th selection.
Too early to start ragging on McGahee. Most mocks have him going to the Raiders at 32. At the very least don't you think the Pats will now take him at 41?

no surprise that Chicago went for a QB...good value here I think.1 Cincinnati CARSON PALMER 2 Detroit CHARLES ROGERS 3 Houston ANDRE JOHNSON 4 New York DEWAYNE ROBERTSON 5 Dallas TERENCE NEWMAN 6 New Orleans JOHNATHAN SULLIVAN (trade with Cards)7 Minnesota KEVIN WILLIAMS (actual #9)8 Jacksonville BYRON LEFTWICH (actual #7)9 Carolina JORDAN GROSS (actual #8)10 Baltimore TERRELL SUGGS11 Seattle MARCUS TRUFANT 12 St. Louis JIMMY KENNEDY 13 New England TY WARREN (trade with Chicago moved up 1)14 Chicago MICHAEL HAYES (trade with Pats moved down 1)15 Philadelphia JEROME MCDOUGLE (trade with SD)16 Pittsburgh TROY POLAMALU (trade with KC)17 Arizona BRYANT JOHNSON (trade with Saints)18 Arizona CALVIN PACE (trade with Saints)19 Baltimore KYLE BOLLER (trade with Pats)20 Denver GEORGE FOSTER 21 Cleveland JEFF FAINE22 Chicago REX GROSSMAN

Any chance that the Raiders trade up for Bailey at this point? That seems like the kind of thing that Davis would love to do.

I would really like to see the commentators laugh at picks like grossman, like levi jones last year
Kiper had Grossman ranked as the 11th best player in the entire draft...I don't think it's bad to get him at #22.

WOW. Chargers looking like geniuses here. Steinbach is freefalling to us in the 30th.
That will be tremendous for the Chargers if they land him. That offensive line was considered a weak point only two seasons ago. Imagine Tomlinson running behind a line with the addition of Steinbach :D

Bills won't go RB now, not with Gary backing up Henry. Bills need depth on DL, WR and secondary so look for their 3 picks today to cover those areas. Also expect Donahoe to trade up/down like he has the previous two years as the Bills Prez.

The fact that the Steelers took a safety rather than a RB or QB = good news for Amos Zeroue and Tommy Maddox owners.
Ah, but did you see the Cowher interview saying that Bettis is eager to prove people wrong this year. I wouldn't be surprised if we haven't heard the last from Jerome! Great pick by the Steelers, by the way. He's Pro-Bowl material for many moons. :D

Doesn't tackle well.
Still... he can run a sub-4.4 in the 40 and has had verticals in 46" range before! That qualifies as a freak in my book.Of course, Jevon Kearse was picked at 16th. And even though it's a different situation, Bailey is in the same category as a "'tweener" and will, IMO, be a Pro Bowler for some team. (Thank goodness it won't be the Bears)

Did you just mention the Bills maybe taking Larry Johnson? No, never, never ever. Travis Henry is young and good, they just got Olandis Gary. I hope that you weren't thinking that.

Maybe Buffalo will take Taylor Jacobs, WR, Floridawith this pick. They could use another receiver to offset the loss of Price.Edited to insert Buffalo into the sentence instead of they

I can only think that McGahee is talking to someone else... maybe San Fran?Bills couldn't possibly be thinking about RB now, could they?

as a Henry Owner...I hate that pick!!!!!1 Cincinnati CARSON PALMER 2 Detroit CHARLES ROGERS 3 Houston ANDRE JOHNSON 4 New York DEWAYNE ROBERTSON 5 Dallas TERENCE NEWMAN 6 New Orleans JOHNATHAN SULLIVAN (trade with Cards)7 Minnesota KEVIN WILLIAMS (actual #9)8 Jacksonville BYRON LEFTWICH (actual #7)9 Carolina JORDAN GROSS (actual #8)10 Baltimore TERRELL SUGGS11 Seattle MARCUS TRUFANT 12 St. Louis JIMMY KENNEDY 13 New England TY WARREN (trade with Chicago moved up 1)14 Chicago MICHAEL HAYES (trade with Pats moved down 1)15 Philadelphia JEROME MCDOUGLE (trade with SD)16 Pittsburgh TROY POLAMALU (trade with KC)17 Arizona BRYANT JOHNSON (trade with Saints)18 Arizona CALVIN PACE (trade with Saints)19 Baltimore KYLE BOLLER (trade with Pats)20 Denver GEORGE FOSTER 21 Cleveland JEFF FAINE22 Chicago REX GROSSMAN 23 Buffalo WILLIS MCGAHEEHe only dropped 22 spots being injured, and was still the first RB taken! lol You think they trade McGahee?

No you're right... not Larry Johnson... I meant McGahee :D

What's the story with George Foster? As a Portis owner, I'm happy they went with a OL, but I know nothing about this guy. Any UGA homers around here?
Not a UGA homer, but George Foster is a good pick, IMO. He's 6'5" 335 & an excellent athlete. Foster has every tool needed to be a LT in the NFL. He doesn't have a lot of experience, but if he keeps improving, he'll likely become a top player.

That sound you just heard was Henry plummetting down to the late second in the fantasy draft.
