Giants at Panthers (1 Viewer)

He didn't use the ground to help make the catch. He made a great catch and maintained possession. It just happened to touch the ground after he'd made the catch. Hitting the ground just helped demonstrate how much control he had of it (because it didn't jar it loose).
Ok. I guess it's as long as he doesn't trap it. Makes sense I guess. Sorry to turn this thread into a discussion on the rules. Lets get back to the game!

When a player runs out of bound they don't always stop the clock? I apologize if that's a stupid question but i always thought that the clock stopped when players run out of bounds.
If they don't have forward progress when going OB, it's as if they didn't go out so the clock doesn't stop.
Also they changed the rule once the ball is spotted the clock starts, except near end of each halfhttp://www.nfl.com/rulebook/timing

That ball touched the ground.
Yep. About a 1/3rd of the ball touched the ground. Should have been incomplete.
Can't it touch the ground after he makes the catch and as long as he maintains possession throughout?I thought it was a catch.Now, I thought the PI on Webster was a bad call. Very minimal contact and he just made a great play on the ball.
Yes aka Bert Emanuel rule
Ugh, had to bring that up, didn't you....

Yes, it helps reserve more time to show commercials.

@JennyVrentas

Pierre-Paul looks like he's ready to go back in, Buckled his chin strap on sideline. #nyg

i don't know what happens tomorrow, but today Andre Brown looks like a freaking stud. nfl speak, not fantasy speak. the guy is hitting holes like his life depended on it.

Every year there is that one guy that gets picked up on waivers and goes on to help an owner win their superbowl. I have a feeling it was this week. Congrats if you were lucky enough to land Brown!
