Nice game this week.

The other two top teams: Ten [@ Indy mnf]. Buffalo [@ Mia]

Giants play the Cowboys the following week.

Steelers play the Redskins the following week.

I have Pitt and NYG defenses. Can't decide what to do there....I think if I start Holmes I will not play the G-men. Going to be a great game, I am thinking that it will be a low scoring affair.

With Bush down, I have to start Jacobs against them and I hate that since my beloved Steelers always come before fantasy football.

With that said, Im not liking our chances. I think they can hold the ground game in check, but I have a feeling that NY will throw all over them. Should be a great game though. The STeelers have a tough road ahead and this is the start.

:towelwave:

I like the Giants because they can do 2 things better than the Steelers. Rush the passer and run the football.

I'm getting the feeling this will be a higher-scoring game than most people think. The Giants passing game should do well with McFadden out and both Townsend and Polamalu iffy. The Steelers will be forced to throw to keep up, and Ben will probably take a few shots (nothing new there), but the grass field helps slow the Giants rush down a little (college game the previous day helps, too).I'm seeing a 27-24 like game, and the FG kicking advantage at notoriously difficult Heinz goes to Reed.

Running the football is clearly a nod to NYG, but don't underestimate the Steelers ability to rush the passer. Harrison and Woodley are beasts. The Giants will be the best OL the Steelers have faced, however.Steelers have 25 sacks (1 per 9.2 attempts or so) vs. 21 sacks for Giants (1 per 9.9 attempts or so).

McFadden going down hurts the already suspect Secondary. However, getting Hampton back will help.As always if Pittsburgh can get pressure on Eli it should lean in Pittsburgh's favor. If they can't - it could be troublesome

Steelers will be exposed as the paper tigers that they really are. 5-1, but the only quality win was against Jax. They are not nearly as good as their record. No O-line, suspect secondary, weakened Willie. Plax puts on a clinic, and the Giants roll.

To that point who other than the Redskins have the Giants beat?Wash@St LouisCincySeattle@Cleveland -LSan FranvsHouston@Cleveland@Philly - LBalt@Jax@Cincy

Yes, but outside of Cincy & Cleveland, the Giants have pretty much dominated their inferior competition. But to the Steelers credit, maybe it's an AFC North thing ...

I guess. Don't get me wrong. I think the Giants are a good team and it appears the Steelers have righted the ship after that 1.5 games of absolutely ZERO offense Cle and the first half against Balt. Both teams have had similar seasons. NYG loses to Cleveland and Squeeze By Cincy. Crush the others. Steelers barely win Cleveland, Jax Balt but crush the other 2.I'm not ready to say one is a paper tiger and one isn't. Not saying Ginats can't or won't crush Pittsburgh but I'm not ready to say Pittsburgh is a "paper tiger"

I think I agree with you. I don't think the Steelers are a paper tiger per se, but rather they are one of a few from a group of good teams that are overvalued in a season with no great team(s).

Yeah, but a Paper Tiger that Crushed a Bungal team in Cincy that the Giants squeaked by at Home. The same Paper tiger that beat the BrownStains, the same Brownstains that embarassed the Giants. My money is on the Steelers.

You can run those A beat B and C beat A so B>C syllogisms through a thousand different scenarios in the NFL and it still won't matter. More now than ever, it is Any Given Sunday in the NFL.

If the Giants OL can keep Eli upright, he can pick this defense apart.

I think with the Giants D, it's not a matter of if, but when they get to Big Ben.

It should be a great game. :link:

I think this game will comes down to which team plays better in the trenches.

Pittsburgh has been solid against the run so far, but this is probably the best rushing attack they have faced... Hampton should be back so that should help.

Pittsburgh's pass rush will be really important in order to help the banged up secondary.

It will be interesting to see if Pittsburgh's oline can handle the Giants pass rush.... I think this is the biggest matchup of the game. If the Steelers oline can hold up, the Steeler's should win at home.

I'll go you one further: If the Steelers OL holds up vs. the Giants pass rush, the Steelers are the favorites to win the AFC.

Didn't say the Steelers, would win, just pointing out the only two common opponent results in response to the "paper tiger" and "only quality win" comments. If I had to bet, I would take the Steelers at home.

I don't have to bet it either; however, I most likely will, and am leaning toward the Giants. :goodposting:

Yep if the Titans among others were in the NFC

Jacobs will not run over the Steelers, It doesn't matter how good he is.

This will be decided by turnover margin, as simple as that.

Two words

Mewelde Moore

...this guy makes a big difference in the offense since FWP has been out.

I like this offense better with Moore right now than with Parker, Moore creates alot more options for the offense when he's in the game.

Believe me, I'm not big believer in the Steelers; I don't think their OL is championship caliber. However, that being said, if the OL shows they can handle the Giants pass rush to me that goes a long way toward solving the team's major weakness and puts them toward the top of the AFC, likely getting a 1 or 2 seed.

Ben is going to get killed if he holds the ball. I want a lot of no huddle & shotgun. If Ben can find a way not to die, the Steelers can win this thing. But, it's going to be a tough game and I don't think it's going to be a defensive stalemate.

If The Steelers OLine crumples, Ben is in for a very long night and the Giants will win.

Is this going to be one of those:

Big Ben is taking a beating for the team but emerges victorious after hitting the winning TD or 1st down to clinch victory while he holds his shoulder?

As a Steeler fan, my biggest concern is containing Burress & Steve Smith. It would be hard with a healthy secondary, but I see big trouble due to the injuries we incurred last week.

This will be Burress's first game against the Steelers since leaving the team and he will be sufficiently motivated to show that he should have gotten the money that the Steelers gave to Hines. Hopefully the Steelers will drape Ike Taylor on Burress and Ike is up to the task.

Smith worries me because he's the type of receiver who runs the underneath routes really well & the Steelers have had trouble covering this in the past (Housh).
