Giants vs Cowboys: the 2012 rematch (1 Viewer)

Can the Cowboys beat the Giants again this season? Will the Giants continue to own the Cowboys in Dallas?

Interesting that the Giants are favored by 1, despite the game being in Dallas.

I will say this: Dallas HAS to win this game. The Giants can lose this game and still go on to win the division and make a playoff run, but Dallas needs this game, big time. And given how they usually respond to pressure, it is hard to see them winning this game.

Totally depends on which Dallas team shows up. No one can predict this, not even the Cowboys. Don't bet on Cowboys games imo.

Lackluster. The NFC West and NFC North are way more interesting this year. Couldn't have come soon enough because I'm sure I'm not the only one annoyed with the years of verbal fellating of the NFC East in the media.

Dallas matches up well against NYG WRs. I think that will keep the game close.

That said, as others have said, I don't count on the Cowboys winning big games. Eli has a winning record at Texas Stadium, and I expect that to continue.

While it won't necessarily come into play, a loss to Dallas really puts New York in a hole in regards to division record. I'd say this is a must win for the GMEN.

Probably no Demarco Murray. He was key in keeping the Giants front 7 honest in week 1. They will be feasting on Romo all afternoon. Giants.

Not really. The only team they would surrender a tiebreaker to, would still be below them in the W/L column. They'd be very much alive in the wildcard race too.Hard to call a game must win for a 5-2 team.

But you are the only one to come in here to complain about it.Giants homer here and I don't see any way the Cowboys win this. They are out talented in every single aspect of the game. Therefore, put your money on the Cowboys.

Cowboys homer here. See week 1 as a blueprint. I would put money on the giants, given the current line. But the talent gap you're describing doesn't exist to the extent you suggest.

Every game is a must win for the Defending Super Bowl Champions. Especially with the Packers, Saints, Eagles, Falcons and Ravens on the horizon.

yeah, the Giants could still win the division if they lose this game, but they better pray there are no tiebreaker scenarios.

I'll add to it. I watch the NFC East because of my fantasy teams, but I would much rather get a chance to see someone of the other teams in the league occasionally. I understand the financial aspect of showing NFC East teams all the time, but as a fan, I'm completely tired of only seeing coverage of the Cowboys, Redskins, Eagles, and Giants (with the occasionally Tom Brady or Peyton Manning thrown in).I care much less about this game than most of the other options this week. To add my opinion on the game, the Giants are good and the Cowboys suck. Without Murray, I see a Giants blowout win. With Murray, I see a slightly smaller Giants win.

I think the Giants learn from the last game and play better. They usually don't come out flat two games in a row, They weren't sharp vs. the 'Skins. Giants also seem to play better on the road. It's just below a must win, but it's a really important game for the Gmen.

Yeah if games were won on talent the Cowboys would be in good shape. They are not and the Giants win games because they are prepared to win in the final 5 minutes of a game and the Cowboys are not. This game will come down to the last 5 minutes.

Cowboys beg home crowd to 'Stand Up and Shout'

Dear [season Ticket Holder],

Sunday we need every Dallas Cowboys fan to get on their feet, get loud and help the defense get a stop! Starting this week against the New York Giants, we will have a new third down graphic on the video board and we want you to get involved in the game.

When you see the video graphic playing on the video board, get on your feet and get LOUD! Together, we can make opposing teams dread coming to Cowboys Stadium.

If we all play our part, we can help give our Dallas Cowboys a true home field advantage.

Sincerely,

Dallas Cowboys Football Club

The Graphic to pump up the crowd

:lmao: Makes me want to chant 3rd down.

Haha!!!!! So the niners getting destroyed by the giants and the Vikings getting destroyed by the bucs have made you happy. If you really think the NFC west is legit you're fooling yourself. Seattle at any NFC east team is a loss. And well, the niners we know how that went. As for the north, Vikings looked good last night.

This will be a tough game for Dallas. The corners and secondary, while talented and good in name, have been a little overrated. Their completion % against is 11th, yards per attempt is 19th, qb rating against 92.3. They haven't given up too many touchdown passes (7) but have only picked off 2 passes..so basically they are right around the middle of the pack. They also only have 12 sacks in 7 games. With the emergence of Domenik Hixon, Martellus Bennet, Andre Brown, and the improved play of Ahmad Bradshaw, plus the improving health of Nicks, the Giants offense is really starting to click (that's not even including how locked in Cruz and Eli are together right now). For anyone worrying, Cruz pretty much carved up this defense, but he basically stopped himself by dropping 3 passes. David Wilson and Lawrence Tynes have combined to give this special teams unit a boost. The Cowboys are so talented that they could randomly have a gigantic game, but they aren't a "team" like the Giants. I think that in the end the loss of Sean Lee and DeMarco Murray further pushes down the Cowboys chances, and that the Giants win by at least a touchdown.

:goodposting: PFF has Prince as the #9 overall CB (he was out the first game). Webster is doing bad at #76 which is one spot above Dallas's Claiborne who is #77. Don't know where Carr or Jenkins ranks.

Giants defensive line looking to counter Tony Romo's quick release

Giants plan to play more press coverage this time to counter Dallas throwing the quick slant and other short routes.
This is a very smart game plan against the Cowboys.1) Our WR's are prone to run bad routes when pressed.

2) It forces Romo to hold the ball longer and our O-line cannot sustain their blocks.

3) Changing plays at the LOS is always an adveture for this team and leads to communication problems and mistakes.

My only hope as a Cowboys fan is that we come out and try to pound Tanner. I think they need to take and hit on 1 deep shot. They also need to continue to take what the Giants give them. Romo did a great job of hitting Ogletree over and over when the Giants had no answer for it. Witten was not healthy during the first game despite playing and should have a big game.

I see this again like almost every Dallas/NY game as a 3 point game either way. I also predict a very high scoring game 27-24 for whoever plays better and gets the breaks.

Game of the week for sure.

I think Claiborne has been decent. He has given up a couple of scores. 1 of which was a total pushoff that should have been called. Carr has been solid and unfortunately hasn't made any big plays yet. Jenkins, who I feel is the teams best corner is not getting any playig time. 1 snap last game. I honestly don't understand why Ryan has not blitzed more and let our corners man up.

The defense overall has been solid for Dallas.

Hopefully Cruz can be contained. Bennett will be a problem for us. I predict he scores.
