Wow...that is an interesting turn of events. I wouldn't have expected Glavine to get that type of treatment.
Glavine reports that he is ready to join the team after throwing 11 scoreless rehab innings, and they tell them that they are releasing him instead.
I'm guessing that they want to keep that 5th rotation spot open for Tommy Hanson and that they wanted to avoid paying Glavine the $1 million dollar bonus for making the roster and the $2.5 million dollar bonus for staying on the roster for 90 days.
I expect to see Tommy Hanson in the starting rotation soon with Medlen likely moving to the bullpen.
