I've been depressed.  Does anyone have any good news to share?  YSR's dad's parking space working out well?  GM get any good butters at Rite Aid?  Anything?
Sorry to hear about the depression.  Wish I could help on the good news front, but Ive really got nothin' at present.

Wait, I haven't passed any blood today.  That's something in the plus column.

:(  Was actually just wondering about you and the job search.

Yay for no blood?

Yay!  Some guys "in the refrigeration business" have arrived at the hotel bar where I'm eating.  One ordered a Grand Marnier "in a sniffer."

Job stuff is more of the same, Im afraid.  Another two interviews the past ten days where "we want an art director....but want to pay them like a production artist" was the general vibe (that was actually said to me verbatim at my most recent one.  Ace).  On the freelance front, it has been little other than unfulfilled "maybes" for over a month.

Anyway, didnt mean to vent here so I'll stop.

Nah, you should post more about it.  Lots of people here might be good for advice or connections.

Need to plan a trip to Italy next year myself.  I usually look forward to planning travel.  And I'm definitely looking forward to the trip.  But not so much the planning.  Seems overwhelming.
It's been a pia, but I've got one more train ticket to buy and I'll be all set.  Really starting to look forward to it!

Sorry I don't have much to contribute, toots. I do have my next Vegas trip booked for Week 1 NFL degeneracy. But tbh, I have my next Vegas trip booked much of the time.

Apparently the Nazi soldiers were all hopped up on Crystal Meth. Learned something new today
Sent me to google.

"During the waning days of the war, the Nazis developed cocaine chewing gum for young sailors to use while piloting single-man submarines on suicide missions."

WHERE CAN I GET THIS???

Young sailors?  Michigan Avenue used to be crawling with them.

I wonder how long it will take before people no longer know why we say “roll down the window.”
This is a good one for the Beloit Mindset List.  Each year a professor (might be the whole faculty) puts together a list of stuff the incoming class wouldn't remember.  It's an interesting read.

I will share some good news. My oldest son is very smart but rarely applies himself in school. This is his junior year and he spent 10 days in the hospital and after that was in a car accident and was injured so he ouldn't run track. He also was the target of  some serious bullying.

well all that stuff really sucked ....

But the challenge is exactly what he needed and he got straight A"s taking mostly AP classes. More important than the grades he is genuinely happy and I couldn't say that last year

It is cool to see your kids figure things out

I'm having hotel chocolate chip cookies that lead me to a GMTANian question:

the correct proportion of cookie to chocolate chips in a chocolate chip cookie is xx:xx?

I would have made mostly A's if I could have taken mostly Alternative Porn classes

Fun fact: Beloit is the only city in the world whose name sounds like you dropped a quarter into a toilet.
