I painted myself into a corner tonight. Wife and both kids are working. I have no car...and no booze. I planned on walking to the store right about now but it just started raining.

Looks like I'm going to get rained on.
Yup, raining here as well. Cold today too (for Los Angeles). Makes me feel like I'm back on the East Coast, minus the snow.
Where you at? (if you've said it before I forgot, sorry)
Nah, don't think I ever have. :) We live in Calabasas, along the western edge of Los Angeles County and the SF Valley just north of the mountains if you're not familiar. My office is on the Westside, not too bad of a commute.
Negro, I know where Calabasas is. Sweet.

Gateway to Thousand Oaks.

How does one not have any booze in their house?

Good question. I used to make the excuse that my sons would drink it but they really don't. Looks like I need to go to BevMo tomorrow.
Total Wine & More is better.

Do you hang out with the Cardassians?

This is great...

My niece has a 6 year old kid that is a weird little dude. Kid is scary smart and I love him to death but he marches to the beat of a different bongo player.

They had school pictures a few months ago. His photo came out very nice. Hair combed, button-up shirt, decent smile etc.

Last week they did picture retakes. Somehow he convinces his teacher and the photographers that he needs to do a retake even though he doesn't have the order form from his parents.

This is his retake. :lmao:

Found out today that one of my female cousins is getting a divorce. Whatever.

But I was texting with one of my male cousins earlier and he pointed out:

There are 14 of us (first cousins).

Of those 14 there are 10 divorces (one greedy broad has 3 of her own).

There are only 6 of us that have only been married once and still married (including my sister who is a widow).

We have a big family reunion coming up this summer. He said we should pose for a group photo holding up one finger.

Oh, and my wife and I are the couple that has been married the longest. And I'm nowhere near close to the oldest in age. I have 9 older cousins.
My mom is the oldest of ten and the only that hasn't gotten divorced, many more than once.
Hey Stryk, long time no see, how was Houston?

Was that fire last week near you? How sad.
Houston sucked balls. 12+ hour days starting at 4 or 5 am, ####ty weather, ridiculous new customer that has some of the worst processes, yadda yadda yadda

What fire are you talking about? I've been pretty much unplugged for the past week or so. When we landed on Monday there was a ton of fire, rescue and cop cars flying around Houston Hobby after we picked up our car. Is that when it was?

Our nephews could be brothers

The fire by where you live, unless I totally have your home city wrong.

So, he basically trolled/grifted his teacher, his parents and the photographer all in one fell swoop? At age 6?

This kid probably has a shot.

Kid also convinced one of the office ladies that he had to take a muni bus home from school last week because nobody picked him up (not true). He also tells everyone he meets that he's trying to find a publisher for his book.

What's the book about?

Anybody else here watch House of Cards? I just cranked up season 3. Mostly because PR chick is going to want to talk about it at some point.

So awesome.

I don't understand how people don't have booze in the house.
Part of it is that I live within 1/4 mile of at least 6 places that sell alcohol. Combined that with our great weather and that means I can walk to get my booze pretty much any time I need to.
I get that, but when I want to drink, I want to drink, not work for it.

:lazydrunk:
It's not like I have to go stalk and trap a kodiak bear and then milk vodka from it's tittays.
That would be pretty awesome.

What's it like having a neighbor like Ray Donovan?

OK, but are you saying you have zero bottles of any type of alcohol? And no beer? ####, when I get down to about 40 beers in my fridge, it goes on the grocery list.

I think God has finally decided to drown south florida. Raining like Noah built a Boat or something...
