They die from partying too hard.Neither do well solo. 22% of widows and widowers died within a year of their spouses death, that's shocking to me.
had to look this one up KevMy band, the Appurtenances, is coming to a dive bar near you soon.
Absolutely normal to be worried for him. 5 1/2 months after his wife dies is pretty damn quick.
Although I can understand it. I hate being alone. Think I would live together though, not get married. Unless she was filthy rich and in the sack.
widows and widowers are highly desirable in the older dating scene. people that haven't been married by their 40s probably have something very wrong with them. people that are divorced at least have enough wrong with them to have a relationship that they vowed would be for the rest of their lives end. widows and widowers actually had people that wanted to stay with them. that makes them a catch. or really good at murder.
I understand why many people feel this way but it's silly and dumb thinking.-fish- said:widows and widowers are highly desirable in the older dating scene. people that haven't been married by their 40s probably have something very wrong with them. people that are divorced at least have enough wrong with them to have a relationship that they vowed would be for the rest of their lives end. widows and widowers actually had people that wanted to stay with them. that makes them a catch. or really good at murder.
Most of them are. Give them a chance and they'll make all your #### disappear.tommyboy said:Maybe she has a magic #####.
Nothing wrong with not getting married but think it would be difficult to live with someone who had never lived with anyone before.I understand why many people feel this way but it's silly and dumb thinking.
Kinda spot on in certain cases.I understand why many people feel this way but it's silly and dumb thinking.
I feel for you - must be difficult watching all of your girlfriends going off to college instead of getting married.Homer J Simpson said:

4 day update?
Son and I went on a scout camping trip to Red River Gorge in eastern Kentucky this weekend. Yesterday, we did via ferrata, which is like a safer version of rock climbing. You have to stay clipped to a cable that is attached to the rock face, and there is usually rebar to step on and hold on to, but sometimes you have to use the rock. Here's a random video of it.
You have to first pass a training wall, and my son was almost in tears about a quarter of the way through because he was so nervous. But he finished with encouragement from me and the guide. Once we got up pretty high on the course I had to calm him down a few times, and I have to say I was pretty nervous myself because it was raining off and on and stuff was wet in some spots. But it was awesome.
This goes way beyond a mere "like this." This is fantastic.4 day update?

Apparently he is running...to Croatia. I emailed with him last night and found out he's moving there with her.Croatian? Tell him to run.
Wow, that's a TON of change really fast. I hope it works out for him.Apparently he is running...to Croatia. I emailed with him last night and found out he's moving there with her.
My take: he's probably so used to being with someone at all times, so it was natural to want him to feel that way again. Who's to say whether or not it will last, but I can see something like this happening.krista4 said:You guys remember my talking about my cousin, whose 40something wife died 5-1/2 months ago of cancer? Found out today he's engaged.
He and his wife were unusually close, having been the only serious relationship either had had, together since college days, and worked in the same university, even teaching some classes and doing some research projects/papers together. They were as well matched as any couple I know. He'll hear nothing from me but congratulations and the best of wishes, and I really do hope that he happened to find someone who is wonderful for him and will add to his happiness, but it's normal to be a little worried for him, right?

I think many of you are right - it's not that uncommon. My grandfather remarried very quickly after my grandmother died, too. Hopefully it will work out. I'm eager to meet her - my aunt & uncle and other cousins met her this weekend and all really liked her.
at you forgetting this partJust wait til you get to the part where he is moving there.at you forgetting this part

Never saw Pet Sematary? After almost two weeks of absence, Lucious the black cat reappeared in the garage tonight. At first I thought he was his twin(?) brother Obi, but after closer inspection, we discovered we again have two black garage cats.

can't do it
About 4 hours up the coast, but I've never been beyond Sibenik area (she does have some extended family there). More of a work hub/jumping off point than vacation spot. Everyone that lives apparently has a house on Krk or goes to Istria on the weekends.Rejika. Is that nearby at all?
Poor guy. Where's he live? NYC? Wonder if we could maybe pool together some funds and help in some way. I don't know how...a dinner or a sitter for his other kid? Awful what they're going through.Man, shady's thread just crushed me.
MP3Need an audio nerd to help me with this Radiohead download.
It's asking me what format to use. Might as well ask me what kind of Netflix would like to install. I'll be doing most of my listening through my Android phone, if that helps.
What do I want here?
