At the wife's family place in the country for the holiday. Most of the time it is full of guns, booze, riding off-road vehicles and setting fires. But there's a five hour period in the middle of the day where it all grinds to a halt and the inlaws show up and I have to stay relatively sober and pretend to care. I'm 13 minutes into that special hell. Pray for me.

 
I'll only hit one buffet while I'm here, a champagne brunch tomorrow morning. Heading into the café at El Cortez now for a breakfast that would make a lumberjack say "No, really, that's plenty."

when don't eat lunch and chug a 16.9 ounce beer that is 12 percent alcohol it makes you feel like you are a 17 year old again. accidental day drunk.

I wished I gave a hit about basketball. Wife's a huge fan and I'd rather be watching pre-season baseball.

I guess I am pulling for Wisconsin, since we seem to have a contingent of those guys in here. At least Stryker.

 
Good news on the derbyhole front. Wife told me she expected me to go since I've been talking about it so long and had to miss vegashole. She has even arranged care for the folks while we'll be gone. This may actually happen for me. I'm thinking I might like to road trip it. Who's en route? St Louis? Columbus?

 
kev- If you can win big, I sure would like a futures ticket on the Astros to win more than 76 games. Maybe a grand? Would you check the line and your cash position tomorrow? I could Paypal or WU if you are making the casinos bleed.

Last time I was proposition was in the Vegas Hilton lobby bar. Crappy convention hotel, but one of the best sports books in the world, back in the day.

Lol...it seemed pretty surreal and funny. I remember the old Hilton. Did the Star Trek Experience after eating some tasty edibles. :nerd:

Last time I was proposition was in the Vegas Hilton lobby bar. Crappy convention hotel, but one of the best sports books in the world, back in the day.

Let me be clear. She was a hooker and it was a business porposition, its not like I'm attractive or anything. Still I was honored that some someone would be willing to #### me if I paid them

Was too undercapitalized to make a go of it, but it was still valuable real estate I had created, so I sold it.

It was. If I could had made it go I could have retired on sale. As it is I have enough to have some stakes in new things and try and find a retirement in one of those.

Mushroom magnate, craft vodka distillery or low/mid-income multi-unit apartment developer are all under strong consideration. Kind of barreling toward the first two, esp. if I end up closing on a piece of property I'm in the middle of buying (option extended until next Thur)

Osaurus is a solid dude who would not let me pay for dinner, though he did let me buy him an expensive cocktail at Cosmo.
