Seriously - is it a moment-in-time thing? I can't understand it. SP are objectively awful. I love Grand Funk and know they suck. Is it like that?
Wasn't really into them at the time, but have a nostalgic type appreciation of them. Definitely part of the soundtrack of my college years. If I close my eyes while listening to "1979", I feel like my body has been teleported to a house party.
I feel the same way about Let Me Clear my Throat.

Anybody else's wife have a pathological need to pack every conceivable thing for every conceivable eventuality on vacation?

We're going to a town with a Costco, a Target, and a Walmart. I'm pretty sure if something comes up, we can just drive a few minutes to the store and pick something up. We don't have to cart a bunch of crap from the mainland just in case. I've got everything I need in a small backpack that I can fit under the seat in front of me on the plane. She's got her stuff in a full size carry on. The baby's stuff needs its own zip code. First trip with a baby I guess.
Can't imagine the last time I packed anything more than a carry-on, including for 2-1/2 weeks in Africa. Minimalism on vacation is the way to go.

Amazing. Can you write up a pamphlet or something for Lesli?

Deadwood? More like overratedwood.
:lmao:

I got through 1.6 seasons and stopped for some reason. Feel like I saw enough. Liked it...didn't love it.

Better than Madmen, though.

these guys really loved them some Deadwood
Curb Your Enthusiasm is only 20 and Band of Brothers is only 12.

The death penalty is too good for these d-bags.

Packing is one of my two gold-medal events (the other is parallel parking). Maybe I should do seminars.

My dad managed to pack a wife and seven kids into a mid-70's OldsmoBuick for a week long vacation every year. You guys should totally hang out.

Second day of empty nesters. Not too bad. Kids are loving it so that is much easier on us. Figured in the last 2 weeks we have flown about 3000 miles and driven about 1800 with countless trips to Walmart for the dorm stuff. Daughters dorm in Temple is the best of the 3. Huge, comes with a full fridge, microwave, stove top and a 42 inch flatscreen on the wall in the living room. Also 2 full bathrooms and only 4 girls in the suite-2 to a bedroom and those are big too. Tampa dorm is tight with 3 in a room. Coastal is not too bad, 4 single bedrooms in a suite. Three completely different campuses but that is just like them. Triplets but three different kids. If you saw them you'd know they were brothers and sister but wouldnt guess triplets.

Moving son # 2 into Tampa I had my own **** in a box moment. Putting the head on his lacrosse stick I had it up against my hip/groin. Wasn't comfortable so I put it up so I was forcing it down against me. I don't know why I just didnt put it on the floor. Anyways, as I was putting the head on the bottom of the stick went straight through my shorts and let out the loudest rip when it happened. My wife was in tears when she looked over. I had on tan shorts with black boxer briefs. Great. How was I supposed to get back to the car across campus without looking like a perv and getting arrested? They had an empty microwave box in the room so i put it in front of me and walked all the way back. :lmao:

Is your son playing lacrosse for U of Tampa? Are they Division II or III?

Not playing. He played in HS and likes to throw the ball around. I don't know what Division they are but either way I 'm not sure he would make it even if it were D3.

I'm about to stick as much blue cheese as possible into a 1/4 pound of ground sirloin and there's nothing any of you can do about it.

We're flying into Philadelphia next week and taking a road trip to Syracuse.

Plan to corn with Jethro and my cousin lives in Liverpool. May do a little salmon fishing.

Never been there before. Should we stay downtown? Anything else we should do? How about on the 200 mile drive from PHL to Syr... I've traveled up that way a number of times, but never casually, looking for stuff to do or places to eat.

You and Jethro can meet halfway and stay in the Poconos

I don't really know of anything to do in Syracuse.

Dinosaur BBQ probably not going to be exciting for someone from Austin. College football game? They are at home on Sept 12th vs Wake Forest.

NY State Fair going on now, but will be over probably by the time you arrive.

Certainly not bad. I think 120/ is the top end of the "normal" range, but anything under /80 is good, and that number is more important.

Were it me, I'd CANCEL ALL APPS and detour to Saratoga Springs. Greatest track experience in the world.

American Pharoah was just there, and lost.

Yeah, lots of places in Central/Upstate NY I'd rather hit than Syracuse. Decent college town, but not a lot else there.

Pretty sure this is Saratoga's last weekend of the season. It is BOATLOADS of fun though.

Oh yeah, it's a short season. I went once with JTC and it was easily the best time I've ever had at a track. Actually, we spent a Friday in the VIP section. Helped a bunch of hot coeds with their handicapping. When I think of the afterlife, this is how I want it to be for me. Then we went back on Saturday and hung out in the woods. Chili cook-offs, lawn chairs, colors full of ice cold beer and the best horses, trainers and jockeys in the world.

Crapbox of a basketball team too.

Small world. Son number 2 at Tampa hanging with roomates and talking to other kids there. One kid has a funny tattoo that he and his roomates take a picture of and snapfacechatgram it out to their friends. Son number 1 at Coastal Carolina gets it and laughs while his roommate gets a pic at the same time and laughs and they show each other. Same friggin pic! So that kid asked his good friend if he knows son number 2 and he said yes it is his roomate. WTF! What are the odds of that happening?

A little confused by the explanation, but if I understand what you said, that is a crazy coincidence.

I love it when I can email a manager with "consider it done" when I've already done it without waiting for permission. It's the little things.
