We're flying into Philadelphia next week and taking a road trip to Syracuse.

Plan to corn with Jethro and my cousin lives in Liverpool. May do a little salmon fishing.

Never been there before. Should we stay downtown? Anything else we should do? How about on the 200 mile drive from PHL to Syr... I've traveled up that way a number of times, but never casually, looking for stuff to do or places to eat.
You and Jethro can meet halfway and stay in the Poconos

Were it me, I'd CANCEL ALL APPS and detour to Saratoga Springs. Greatest track experience in the world.
Checked it out. That's a spring thing

Or, you know....August. I think the season is just about over. Only lasts like 5 weeks. I think.

August in NY is like the Spring for Texans I guess.

Salmon River fishing is looking like the highlight.

What about any surrounding cities like Rochester or Utica, any of them have a decent downtown to spend half a week.

Small world. Son number 2 at Tampa hanging with roomates and talking to other kids there. One kid has a funny tattoo that he and his roomates take a picture of and snapfacechatgram it out to their friends. Son number 1 at Coastal Carolina gets it and laughs while his roommate gets a pic at the same time and laughs and they show each other. Same friggin pic! So that kid asked his good friend if he knows son number 2 and he said yes it is his roomate. WTF! What are the odds of that happening?
A little confused by the explanation, but if I understand what you said, that is a crazy coincidence.
This happens to me all the time expaining things. My son in Tampa and my son In South Carolina each have roommates that are good friends that went to High School together back where they live in NY.

Vermont an option?
I guess. We kind of need to see my cousin in Syracuse. Was hoping there were some decent areas nearby
I usually just drove through it. Never heard of it as a destination before. If your cousin is there, maybe that's the person to ask for fun things to do/see nearby.

Rochester probably doesn't have much either.

Jack Benny: Say, Rochester...Why did your parents give you such a silly name?

Rochester: Because I was born in Syracuse.

Benny: Well why didn't they name you Syracuse?

Rochester: Because that's my sister's name!

Anybody else's wife have a pathological need to pack every conceivable thing for every conceivable eventuality on vacation?

We're going to a town with a Costco, a Target, and a Walmart. I'm pretty sure if something comes up, we can just drive a few minutes to the store and pick something up. We don't have to cart a bunch of crap from the mainland just in case. I've got everything I need in a small backpack that I can fit under the seat in front of me on the plane. She's got her stuff in a full size carry on. The baby's stuff needs its own zip code. First trip with a baby I guess.
Can't imagine the last time I packed anything more than a carry-on, including for 2-1/2 weeks in Africa. Minimalism on vacation is the way to go.
Amazing. Can you write up a pamphlet or something for Lesli?
Packing is one of my two gold-medal events (the other is parallel parking). Maybe I should do seminars.
You sure you're female?

Dylan decided to put a pebble in his ear Friday. The doctor couldn't get it out so surgery is set for Friday. I was told it was not big deal put it's really jammed in there and would be painful to remove without anesthetic. I want to be angry but making really bad decisions are no doubt in his genes.

Oooof, sorry man.

Better than a penis, though.

Something like that happened to me in college, where one of my good friends was good friends with this dude, who was back-home good friends with one of my roommates. WACKY!

How would he get his penis stuck in his ear?

Thanks GB but told it's really not a big deal. Dylan is now known in my house as "pebble head".

I kept waiting for it to scare the kid or masturbate or something.

There's a huge silverback at the Philly zoo that will sit with his back to the window, then turn and rush the window while screaming and pound on it. He does it just to scare people because he thinks it's funny. Having witnessed it, he's right.
Maybe I should just stay the week in Philly and go to the zoo

I've had a #### of a day. But I'm invigorated. I'm out for blood with an insatiable appetite and endless energy, like Homer on a coke binge at a catholic prep school.

The next few years are going to be a lot of fun.

"The slim and lazy Homer you knew is dead. Now I'm a big, fat dynamo!!"

Having an Old Fashioned in the hotel bar at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas. This place is dead. When I was a kid, I remember thinking that the Anatole was the fanciest place on earth. Apparently kids are pretty stupid.

Damn. What type of surgery? Do you mean just putting him out so he'll be still while they pick it out of there? I can't imagine any incisions would have to be made.

Thank you, vague facebook poster.

Good call, Draper.

Directly ripping off Draper quotes in staff meetings has also worked well.

Eh. ####. I had a list of good quotes but the board stole it. Most of them came from a marketing infographic that I found on Google and drop into staff meeting updates.

Overheard two guys talking at the public market this morning:

Guy1: I'd like to check out the rest of your stuff. Do you have a website?

Guy2: No...I'm listed in the yellow pages.

Guy1:
