My dad had a blister on his foot that was pretty bad. So he went to the doctor to get it looked at and it turns out it got really infected and on top of that he had somehow broken his big toe. They had to do an emergency surgery tonight to repair the bone and clean out the infection that ended up being so bad it got into the bone. They're doing a biopsy on one of the bone chips and depending on how it looks they may have to amputate his big toe and possibly (though very unlikely) his right foot.

No TPWs needed, just kinda venting. He's 74 and loves taking walks and golfing. Can't imagine what this would do to his psyche if he's gotta give that up. Not to mention the quasi guilt I have since he got the blister when I took him to the PGA Championship a few weeks ago. Damn you Whistling Straits and your beautiful, nearly impassable terrain.

Just caught one last night from season 3 and enjoyed it. Went On Demand and started watching Season 1. Hopefully I can get them all in before I lose my free movie channels.

Probably bus schedules. Big push in Northern VA to get the school day to start later. My kids (now adults) used to catch the bus at 6:30am. By the time sports/activites etc were done it was easily 5PM

K-12 I never had to ride the bus to school...ever.

K-6 was about 3 blocks from my house.

7-8 was 1.2 miles from my house. The buses were for kids that were more like 2 miles away.

HS was a private school with no buses. Had to car pool.
