Not sure this is the right place to ask (I already PM Woz....) My mom is trying to sell some property to a guy that I think is a scamster, there is rumor he's been in the pen for fraud in the past. How does one get a legit federal background check on somebody? If you google it it's a billion websites that want $$ upfront and all look like bull#### to me.

In the situation where perhaps this guy is a complete fraud what are the possibilities if she sells to this guy and the checks all clear? Could in any way this stuff get clawed back?

I use a private investigator for work every once in a while. a full background check will cost you $100-$150.

call a local PI and have them do it. all of the databases are on subscription services, so they have them all available.

anyone ever use chlorophyl for altitude sickness? my wife suffers from it, and we wanted to give it a whirl
Bill Cosby?
so far, i don't need chloroform for the wife.
Saw your text. I haven't tried it nor am I aware of anyone I know having tried it. Have you tried the other, more-usual suspects (Diamox, gingko, etc.) or the basics such as breathing techniques and hydration? I also read this article a couple of months ago that had other ideas.

haven't tried those mentioned, but have seen them. chlorophyl was mentioned in the same breath as ginkgo.

Half of our office (the half with most of the meeting rooms) is about 62 degrees right now

Wearing my coat and hat as shtick right now (well partial shtick...it's pretty cold)

As if last week wasn't crappy enough, It ended with me spending last night by grandmother's side as she took her dying breath.

I also have great memories of her chicken and dumplings.
Damn. So sorry, LD.
This

Also, fantastic post about her evolving personality over the years. Glad she was sweet for so long and that this is the way you will remember her.

Microwaved scrambled eggs aren't as bad as I expected them to be.
Yeah, we have a few broads at the office that cook themselves eggs in the microwave every morning. I'd be kinda pissed if I had to sit anywhere near them but they say the eggs come out tasty.

Raining in Los Angeles. All day today and supposed to tomorrow, too. Makes me feel like I'm back on the East Coast. Hope no flooding for anyone, tho.

In other news, I see that the BBQ contest has made THE FINALS. No schtick, hasn't it been going for srsly about three years?

have had my CO2 detector "chirp" the last 2 weeks. unit is 15 years old, so I believe it has outlived its' shelf life. bought a new one and will install (i.e. plug in) tonight, if I don't post tomorrow, please refer to my T & P post, since I likely died in my sleep.

God would never let me be successful; he'd kill me first.

So the only way I can get my car key out of the ignition is to use a screwdriver.
I once repo'd a car by starting it with a screwdriver. Actually true. (ignition was all jacked up)
The ignition is fine. There's a relay under the shifter that has a loose wire. So now the ignition "thinks" the car is not in park. Fortunately there's a somewhat easily accessible manual release (heh) right under the ignition.

I had an old car in high school where to start it I had to pop the hood and use 2 screwdrivers on the starter to start it. Kept 2 screwdrivers in the glovebox for this.

At a gas station someone saw me do this and called the cops. They pulled me over and started screaming at me to get out of the car. I stepped out, they told me to turn around and walk backwards. Told me they had a report of a stolen car.

Took 10 minutes of them looking at my license and registration and they let me go. They scolded me for wasting their time and told me to get it fixed.
