GM's Thread About Everything/GM's Thread About Nothing (19 Viewers)

So a bottle is like 2 12oz beers.  The idea of having 4 beers for $50 still has me spinning though the flavors sound delicious.

Are the carbs about the same as a regular )non-lite) beer?  Like around 12 carbs per 12oz beer?
Yep like 2 regular bottles and it's definitely pricey. I honestly have no idea on the carb counts, I just drink em.

Ill have to see what's releasing soon that's special. I'll just build up a nice sampler over the next month or so with those included

ill drink whatever.  Doesn't have to be anything super rare, just stuff that isn't distributed here.  Is daisy cutter Chicago?  Or is that hard to get?
Yep Daisy Cutter is here, Half Acre and it's super easy to get.

You ####### guys.  I need something more expensive to drink.   Something really ridiculous sounding yet somehow also pretentious.    How about pappy van winkle? Nope that's last year.  How about fifty dollar four pack of beer sours?  There's lots of flavors besides beer.  You know,  because we love beer so much that we'll pay fifty bucks for less than a six pack of something that's not beer and comes in different flavors.  Let me know when you realize it's Zima and start icing your bros with it, preferably over a ridiculous sounding tea concoction you can only get at a coffee shop.

I only drink beers in elaborate test tube holders

Bourbon County Rare was a whole lot more than 50 for a four pack :oldunsure:

Stone did a collaboration that was a green tea IPA

On that note I think I have an Enjoy After that should be ready soon.  That's right @bostonfreda beer you buy and have to let sit in your basement for a year before you can drink it

Kind of turned this into GM's beer thread but that Green Tea IPA from Stone was AWFUL. :X

:lmao:    #### it - I wanna try it.

Back when it first came out (early 90s) we took a couple of sips out of each bottle then poured Chambord in it.  :bag:

I'm suprised I still have a ####.

I had a dream last night where a guy from my new work and I were parkouring (sp?) all over the East side of Joliet until we made it to the front of the police station. We sat there drinking beers and watching people. There was a couple that got out of their station wagon and did a salsa styled Macarena. Another lady had a bear on a leash. Some guy on a unicycle. We eventually left to parkour across the roofs because the cops were looking for us.

Then I had another dream that my lady and I were riding dirt bikes in the AZ desert. That was pretty hot.
The first one is a fake dream.  You did not have it.  You were looking for weird things to include in your dream and choose adventurous sounding things like parkouring and bears.   You did this to make your dreams sound more interesting than they really are.  Macarenas and unicycles and bears and cops?  I don't believe you.

The second dream is an actual memory of a dream.   You love spending time with your lady.  You want to ride dirt bikes with her.  You have an unfulfilled sense of adventure that makes you like dangerous places and dangerous sports even when you make up lies. Dirt bikes in particular are the kinds of thing you're really into in your late teens early twenties,  and usually something you do with the guys.   It sounds like you want more adventure in your life and wish your lady was more like a teenage boy.  Not in a sexual way necessarily but more like please don't talk to me about furniture we should get and boring girl stories.   You're on the bored side of love right now - still a fan but a little complacent.

Maybe you should try parkour with bears and macarunacycles.  Lying liar.

The only thing I made up was the unicycle because I remember there being 3 things we witnessed in front of the police station, James.

I'd like to participate in beer chat.

1. I like sour beers but am not a beer drinker.  Take that for what it's worth.

2. Could anyone explain to me why Mr krista still buys these $30 bottles of beer when we bought beer-making equipment and he is making beer and the ####### stuff takes up so much space in my garage and sauna?!?!?!!111111

TIA.

So you spend money today.  To buy beer. Then you don't drink the beer. You keep it in your beer cellar. And then a year from now you finally open the beer and it might suck.  But at least you find out if the beer is any good. And then you drink it no matter what because you spent all that money and time.   And sometimes you buy expensive beer in between that doesn't taste like beer.

Passed me right the #### by.  All of it.

I finally used the gift card that arud gave me n the ffa secret Santa of 2011.  Went to Slows downtown Detroit.  Had a great lunch but felt a little overserved after three beers.  Asked the bartender if I could look at the bottle.  New Holland pilgrims Dole 12%.  Good grief not the beer to chug at lunch but could have easily banged down three more!  Very good.

In reference to 2, it's exceedingly unlikely the first few batches he brews will be as good as what he can buy now.

Well Stone enjoy by and enjoy after are pretty much sure bets to be very good to excellent.

They've actually been blown away by how good the first two batches were.  I doubt anything they brew will ever be as good as what they can buy, though, which brings up another question...

Say a guy wants to try a non-$30 bottle of this so called 'sour' beer and has no desire to buy it and keep it for a decade. Does one exist?  Recommendations?  I'm in Minneapolis btw.

Alamanc makes great sours and they are 12 per bottle but it's only a 12oz bottle. Not sure if they distribute up there though.

Sierra Nevada Otra Vez should be able to be found rather easily. Certainly not the best of the style but it's still good

you'll probably see more in summertime but I'd venture any local brewery will be putting out their own version

anderson valley Gose is another that I think may be widely distributed

The beer my wife and I made in our little Brooklyn Brew Shop kit was actually very good.  I think it was called Afternoon Wheat Blend or something like that.

Granted, the entire process of making it sucked donkey balls and I'll never do it again.....but the beer tasted good.

Destihl Wild Sour series is pretty good too if you can get that.

Oldie but a goodie.

GDit! Pretty sure I just feel asleep while pooping. GB a hiccup waking me before my wife caught me passed out on the floor with an unwiped butt again.

ETA: I'm going to wipe now then, umm, lay down on the floor. I hope I find my pants first.

P.S. today sucked: link

No way a $30 bottle of beer is 5x better than the $6 I buy.   It's like wasting a first round FF pick on a QB.

Probably for the same reason that you go out and buy naan when you have a perfectly good naan oven installed in a wall in your house.

I'll be sitting in a suite just off the 18th green getting ####faced on free booze at the Valero Open in three weeks. Way easier than chasing some stupid ball around all afternoon.

Why can't we have one - ONE - decent Tex-Mex here in Portland?   Sanchez Taqueria is good for tortas, not much of a sit down joint.  Por Que No? Is goodish, Eaparzas good....whole lot of garbage.  Like Chinese food.  Just blah.
So I'm down here for biz. I do a ####ton if biz in this city, and one of the dudes I sell is a multimillionaire that likes to throw money around. We go to lunch yesterday and he says " what do you want ".

Bro, I'm from Portland. I want either BBQ or Mexican cuz we have ####. You want Thai or seafood come to Portland, but I'm in your town take me to the real ####.

We went to some hole in the wall BBQ joint and it was amazing.

One of my dogs has had a persistent UTI for a couple weeks, not getting fixed, so took her in to get an x-ray.  Bladder looks like a sack full of rocks.

Surgery scheduled for Monday.  ### #### it.
