All of those themed aliases have to be used sparingly - a tough balance, I'm sure.  Wet Dream does pretty well in that regard.  Love this idea, though.  Wish you could have gotten it approved.

 
Speaking of the idea of the Olympics having originated as essentially War Games in shorts: George S. Patton was an Olympian in 1912. He took the bronze in the modern Pentathalon, which seems pretty warlike, consisting of five events: Running, riding a horse, swimming, fencing, and shooting.

Patton, oddly enough, did poorly at shooting, but made up for it with his performance in fencing and running.

Incidentally, he designed the Army's sword the next year.

Useless Trivia! (I think, anyway.  Know I recall reading this someplace, once upon a time):

According to Patton, he did GREAT at the shooting portion.  He was apparently gigged for missing the target completely with one of his shots.  He maintained that he had shot directly through a hole in the target made by one of his previous bullets, as he chose to use a "man's gun"(a .38) instead of the .22s that were standard for the event.

tl:dr..... Patton was basically a Chuck Norris meme before there was a Chuck Norris.

The funny thing is she will sigh every time she has to tell people how to pronounce her name.

 
One of my favorite movies from my childhood was on so I DVR'd it.  Hadn't seen it in probably 25 years, still just as good as the day I saw it.

Just took my wife to nice lunch. Had to pick up a yard sign from a listing.  A minute into our ride home, we discovered that there was a wasp nest inside the yard sign and they are coming out every ten seconds.  Total wife freak out.

Stupid crap I/we have to put up with.  First day of school yesterday.  When I call attendance I always tell kids to let me know if they want to be called by something other than what's on the roster.  Matt instead of Matthew,  Maddi instead of Madison,  middle name instead of first name etc.  So this kid named Kyle says he wants to be called Pablo.  His middle name is not Pablo but IDGAF.  I call him Pablo yesterday and today.  

Got an email from a fellow teacher today...at like 5:30PM.   Settle down, Superteacher.

I saw that each of you have Kyle Chavez in your classes as well and I wanted to pass along something I learned today. I called home and spoke to mom and she is not happy that he is trying to go by the name "Pablo." I figured if we were all on the same page of calling him Kyle that may help put a stop to this. Some of you may have already known this, but I thought I would share! Thank you!

Yeah, I'm calling him Pablo until some sort of court order.
