GM's Thread About Everything/GM's Thread About Nothing (22 Viewers)

I think the beauty of RLs delivery was that Cesar's is pronounced like hack Spanish interpretation of scissors would be. Like when Babalooey says  "s'allright Queeksdraw"
It's like my cousin Juan and his brother Two and their buddies Jose and Josbee.

:lmao:

I know a genuine human being, allegedly an adult working on his doctorate, who once asked me "what is a penguin?" I think I tilted my head like a confused dog and said something like "an aquatic flightless bird?". He responded in a very subdued tone: "Oh....Are you sure?".

I swear this happened. I will say he was quite drunk. But I don't think I have ever been drunk enough to think a penguin was a mammal. Nevermind an amphibian or reptile.

How many times was a portion of Gimmie Shelter played during that broadcast? Can't believe they made me not want hear one of the greatest rock songs ever recorded again for at least a month.

That would have to be quite a lot of repetition. Because it is easily in the Top 5, all time.

This is the name of my wives who shop at Costco cover band
What do you think of those $400 Fuji bikes?

eta, I forget the name. Something a local bike shop would recommend to a fatass couple wanting to tool around the neighborhood.

I live about a mile from here, for what it's worth
I posted earlier, I think the Columbia Valley (esp. the WA side) has the best value wines in America. Amazing convergence of price and quality

I think Walla Walla has the best wines in the state. Far more expensive though.
Value trumps quality. I'd love to order all my wines from Willamette (dammit!), but starting at $350/cs its out of my case-acquiring comfort zone

Oh, I agree. All of my wine buying budget above the cheap stuff is now taken up by college funds.
Just let the kid know by 2nd grade, scholarships are expected to cover the majority of any college expenses.

Ninja hooked me up with a good bike for coasting down the hill to retrieve the truck I was too drunk to drive the night before.

why are you dodging my Fuji question? Kid's great and all, but aren't you dying for a little shop talk?

A $400 fuji will probably work just fine for tooling around the neighborhood, and probably won't work fine for anything else.
Seemed to me the forward pedals may help prevent some of the back pain and seemed appropriate for neighborhood tooling. I can exchange them for others, but they seem a good fit. Only trouble is dragging our fataqsses into the saddles.

My dad told me when I was 16 that he'd saved enough for me to go to college. I didn't have to take it, and I didn't have to pay it back, but if I accepted he wanted me to do the same for my kids. So that's going to happen.
My parents didn't do #### for me so I sold weed to pay for college.  Now that weed is legal, I'm hoping roverkid just drops out.

So your dad said that because he deprived himself so you could get a college education to be a bike mechanic, then you must likewise commit to depriving yourself, so your son can disappoint you, too? Instill your son with a will to learn, a desire to become what he can be, what he wants to be. Whatever that may be, you will love and accept him.

You are the most lawyery friend of all the lawyer friends I have
But he's our lawyer, especially since @Idiot Boxer abandoned us, and you caan't get Krista unless you're willing to incorporate and pony up a seven eight figure retainer. And Leeroy and Thorn are no good unless major real estate is involved. (sorry if I omitted any other ambulance chasers)

Thanks for taking my post with the affection I intended. It could have been considered smarmy or assuming. Drunk cos appreciates the pass.

I am no longer offended by insinuation that I have not lived up to my potential, mostly because I'm completely fine with that fact because I have everything I want in life. #underachiever
I do not consider you an underachiever and did not intend to imply such. You are a hero in my book. A good man with a good wife, doing what he loves and persevering, yea thriving though the unrelenting adversity.

I consider myself an amazingly lucky underachiever. I was in no way offended. :)
And I never claimed you achieved much. But you are a good man and seem to like yourself. With that you can get as far as you ever need to be.

You may already know this, but if you like Red Blends and/or Cabs, look for wines from the Red Mountain or Horse Heaven Hills sub-regions.

I'm drinking cheap vodka that comes in a blue plastic bottle.  I figure if my alcoholic ex gf can live on this stuff, it's got to be ok.

No regrets at all on my 2012 Fuji Absolute 3.0, which cost me $340. Works just fine.
