GM's thread about nothing (32 Viewers)

Today my students did an activity called Hudson River School Art Analysis. They looked at this painting (not a Reddit link, sackwashers) and then answered a bunch of questions including writing similies and metaphors about what they see. I played some Clannad (youtube music video that is totally cat free) while they did it.

Guster: Your HR department hiring?

that's pretty great that you're teaching art so specifically (Hudson School).

do you have a whole segment on art, or is it ongoing? Social studies, right? very cool

US History. Small section on "new cultural movements in America". We discussed Lit (Washington Irving, JF Cooper), painting (Hudson River, George Caleb Bingham) music (spirituals, folk), and architecture (Georgian vs Neoclassical).

We had a meeting this morning with the broker we buy our health insurance from. I realized the guy was a schmuck just like me but I had to bring up the issue with Cal's medicine. Now keep in mind I have a light blue t-shirt on that reads Children's Grief Awareness Day. I bet you didn't know it was CGAD did you? You're a horrible person.

Anyhow, I felt like I didn't have a position of power but then I remembered that everybody at the table was looking at me for guidance. (YEAH HF, you didn't know that did you!?). You are all surely ahead of me by now but yes, I wear funny shirts for fun. Funny cat shirts to be more precise.

Turns out the schmuck has a son with similar difficulties and problems with his meds being covered by UHC. He said he will help. We'll see. I'll see?
What's going on, what grounds is UHC denying them on? What is it that he is going to do?

Our appeal with UHC was just denied for the next round of nerve blocks for my wife. Last round showed good results, and the next step following the next injections would have been RF ablation of the nerves, which I'm sure won't be covered either.
This is the situation that started in June when they stopped covering one of his very much needed meds. Their official reason for no longer covering it, after years of doing so, is "because we don't want to".
That's terrible. Good luck.

My results came back negative. Both times I talked to the doctor about negative results, he was quick and anxious to let me know that was a good result, as if someone went all Costanza on him previously when he gave them similar news. "NEGATIVE? I knew god wouldn't let me be successful."
I'm glad to hear that, thanks and :lmao: .

Of course I just got this e-mail

I wanted to let you know I reached out to United Healthcare and was told unfortunately your son’s medicine Intuniv is an exclusion on the plan and under no circumstances will it be covered even if the Doctor would submit an appeal.
Hopefully they will cover the generic that comes out 12-1 and I won't have to go all scorched Earth and broke.

But wait, THERE'S MORE!!

I was just told that twice each year they do move certain drugs that are no longer cost effective off the formulary
Apparently the well being of my son isn't cost effective. This makes me killy.

that's ####### fantastic.

YSR- I moved Josh Gordon from flex to WR in an effort to make him feel welcome. In a corresponding move, Maclin was moved to flex and told to get his #### together. Emmanuel Sanders is going to the bench because he nearly got decapitated and our team is too good.

Director of a drug rehab outfit in Florida is putting a backup bid on A Oaks at 10% over accepted offer. That's super because if the original offerer comes back and tries to lower price after inspections, I can tell him to pound sand and get more money. The director also told me that if she does not get AO, she would like me to build her another one. She loved it and how I created the space. Neat.

Counter at 5% over plus 50% of "contraband" that they find during intake

Call up the person with offer #1 and make sure to tell them that a mass killing of chickens took place on the property and you just wanted to make sure they knew the entire backstory of the place.

My yahoo app just told me Manny is PROBABLE!

I have a Facebook page with my slave name in preparation for taunting Super Happy Fun Ball, aka UHC, should they most likely not cover the generic medicine either. Friend requests are welcome.

BourbonGuys - thoughts on Angel's Envy?
People love it, but I think it's plain, like Breckenridge, which won awards. My favorite these days is Four Roses Single Barrel, and their Small Batch is excellent as well while not as strong.
Thanks. Saw it on a "top 10" list, and also just got a $40 gift card to a liquor store, so i figured I'd splurge a little.
I like it quite a bit, but I generally don't keep it around at that price.

Kev, do we have any prayers of staying in this hunt? We kind of hit a wall, eh?

Also, should it turn into a drug rehab facility, chances are high that it could host another Coshole in the future with a few of us. :oldunsure:

they also might want to REALLY clean and inspect some of those rooms if indeed it becomes a Dr. Drew facility.

Dude, I'd contact the local media and see if they have any interest covering this story. Insurance companies do NOT like negative press when it comes to kids and let's be honest, it's not like St. Louis has any other news items to cover right now.

More like, my head hit a wall with some of those lineup decisions. :bag:

A team with Peyton Manning and Marshawn Lynch isn't out of it...but we could use some breaks.

I know right? I thought a FB campaign with a copy of the letter I wrote and a link to the video of me telling him he was getting his medicine back may be effective.

Well, we should have Eagles Defense in there facing Tennessee, no? I mean, I know they suck, but they can also return kicks, sack QBs and so other neat things. Washington is our other option? Meh. Your call, but I'd go Eagles here.

And we should probably start James Jones this week too. I think he might score a TD.

Yup. Do it. Shame these mother ####ers into orbit.

Kind of hoping the lineup I see there now is not the lineup we unveil this weekend.

That's the plan GB. Hopefully the generic is covered though.

We're on our way to the DMZ/JSA this morning. Lots of speeches by me to Mr krista regarding not saying anything "funny" that will land him in North Korean prison. Wish us luck.
