As we are about to begin 2020 my ask of my liberal friends & fellow posters is to pledge to post in good faith. Lets kick off the new year , an election year, with dropping all the games and shenanigans . Please try to be better. Post in good faith. Your fellow Trump supports/voters and sympathizers will appreciate it and follow suite.

Toup, let's take this pledge together: "I State Your Name do solemnly pledge to never, ever support someone for president who cannot follow these same precepts online." Let us all support someone we can admire as being better in a way that we always ask others to be here. On board?

I read this as you saying your fellow Trump supporters/voters and sympathizers view your liberal friends and fellow posters as leaders in the area of good faith posting. Correct?

I’m saying that the Trump haters here have to elevate their posting. They have to be the change they desire , be more like Trump supporters and overcome the hate that has consumed the liberal members here. Post in good faith. Embrace the goodness  of Donald, be good themselves.

This sounds a lot like trolling. 

But I’m going to redouble my efforts to be a good person anyhow, so I appreciate the advice. 

 
Here's the thing , I ask my progressive friends , my most liberal friends here to drop all the snarkiness. Please drop all the vitriol towards my fellow Trump voters etc but most importantly the president  , our president , Donald J Trump. Respect the office , respect the great man in that office. Lets start the new year with putting the right foot forward

I think I read this correctly. This is not a serious effort to improve things around here. It’s trolling. If he keeps it up he will receive snarky responses from me and others. They will be well deserved. Wow indeed.

Listen you’re the big kahuna here in terms of posting , if you’re onboard you can help make it better by the sheer amount of posting you do here.

You can still be nice, respectful and non-snarky about it. 

 
I think some left leanings posters don't even realize when they are being snarky at times. I don't mean this in a bad way, but they state things they truly feel and some of them think the people who voted for or support Trump are trashy and that they are of higher moral character. 

It's not limited to posters here. I have a relative who is as anti trump as it gets and some her statements are absurd, demeaning and irrational.  She really doesn't understand how she comes across.

I don't know you who mean when you say "we were asked". 

I have never asked that. I want us to be cool and civil in how we discuss things. That's miles away from “embrace the goodness of Donald” and “ respect the great man in that office”.

 
Yes. It's assumed when we post, you mean what you say and you're posting in good faith. That's a given. 

If you do think someone is well over the line trolling or posting in bad faith, please report it. Also note, that's not the same as "someone is posting something I don't agree with". That's not necessarily trolling. We get a lot of posts reported that are someone expressing a mainstream opinion and the person reports it because it doesn't fit with that what they think. Don't do that. The moderators are busy, so please respect their time. But if you see something that is clearly over the line, report it. 

I'm going to assume this thread was not trolling. But also, that's about as much as is needed on this topic. Thanks.
