Good / Great laptop for college (not apple) (1 Viewer)

My son is going to college in the fall and I wanted to get him a new laptop. He does not like apple for whatever reason (as I type this on my macbook), and his old computer is a little slow. Any thoughts? He is going to Uchicago and basically uses it for everything (he is not really a "gamer")

Check the college website they should have recommended specs for laptops.

The new HP Omen laptops looks great and are under $1k.

I am looking at the Asus zenbooks.  Very good reviews and very affordable.
