I had promised to complete the Pacific War on the WW2 thread by last Monday. Because of the banning, I was unable to do so, but I will post twice more on that thread today, to bring it to a close. I would have liked to have been a contributor on the Civil War thread, since I know much about it and I have walked the battlefields, but it was not to be.

You can retire from the FFA, but you have to come back to the ACW thread.

I certainly hope you change your mind. The discussions are too much fun and really worth a lot more than the complaints you're making, IMO. You are one of the terrific contributors here, especially in our historical threads, and your loss will be greatly felt. Please stay.

I get run out of here at least once a month. I see stuff at least once a day worse than the stuff I get run for. It is annoying to have an inconsistent and often childish "faceless mod" interrupt your conversation, yet that is the game. Why sweat what is essentially a standardless random occurance?

I'll take my banning now for calling the Mods childish.

Is the moderating inconsistent? Absolutely. Are they sometimes too strict? Yes. But the alternative is anarchy, and we can't have that. Meh people get banned and they create new aliases. It can be a terrific re-birthing process for a lot of us. I'll tell you this, it can be quite thrilling posting objectionable material and seeing if it flies. If you remain unscathed, it gets your adrenaline running. You feel like an internet daredevil. If you get banned, you create an alias. No big deal.

Yeah, I don't know if anyone's ever figured out when Joe got his testes snipped and began his stupid suspension spree. But, it was a much better place back then compared to the old granny messageboard it is now.
