Goodell (1 Viewer)

Trump Tight

Wow, just took the stage in RCMH and it took him at least a minute to quiet the crowd.

It was probably a good decision to come out 20 minutes before the draft started and hope that the crowd gets its ire out. Not as many people watching now than will be at 8:00.

Pretty classless from the fans.
Meh, I think its pretty apparent that Goodell went out as a ploy. He gets some of the venting out of the way before the draft starts and he used a tragedy to try to play against the anger of the audience. There is no reason the person announcing the HoF class couldn't have made the same announcement.

So in other words he can't win. If he hadn't done it and some "nobody" did people would be saying he doesn't care.

Agreed. It was OK to boo for a few seconds but to continue it as long as they did was classless IMO. Especially as he tried to calm people to pay respect to the tragedy in the south.
No one knew that was why he was coming out to announce something. Does he normally announce moments of silence before the draft?
Come on. As is it wasn't obvious as all get out. I'm sitting here watching on TV and could see all the Alabama and Auburn personal lined up behind him. It was also a dead give away that he tried to say like 5 times he wanted to take a serious moment.

Took all of 2 seconds to figure out with guys from Alabama and Auburn up there why he was there. Guess we can assume the idiots in that crowd aren't too bright.

That was the wrong damn time to try and "have a serious moment".

They knew what was coming when he was gonna take the stage.

A ploy, nothing more. Users.

Yeah from the second level the crowd should have noticed. You guys have to be kidding me

Or, like most New Yorkers, the crowd is generally following Big East and Big 10 football. I couldn't have picked those guys out of a lineup.

Great point. He knows he's gonna get slammed so he plans a moment of silence. Talk about being disrespectful toward a tragedy

They are die hard NFL fans attending the draft and this happened only seconds after all the players where introduced giving their name and school and yet remarkably they don't know who any of those guys are? Riiiight.

Exactly bigsteel, it was a ploy. That moment of silence was designed to stop the boos.

BTW I am a huge Bama fan living in a county affected by tornados. I'm glad the NFL recognized it. But they chose that moment for a reason.

Agree. If we hadn't had the southern tornadoes, dollars to donuts there would have been a call in # for Japan.

Anyone that is taking either side is ignoring a certain amount of facts. Suffice to say, it takes two to tango. If you boo one side, then be smart and boo the other as well.

There are FAR MORE reason then just the damn work stoppage to boooo Goodell.

Anyone who doesn't understand that is assuredly missing the facts.

Goodell is the ###### of a commish the NFL currently has, regardless of how bad my typing is (and my typing is bad).

And it not surprising you could not figure it out. Keep your chin up buckaroo.

Godell was given his position by the owners, why wouldn't he side with the owners here?
It is not 'siding' with the owners, it is doing what he thinks is best for the league. Just as the union is doing what they think is best for the players and the owners are doing what they think is best for the owners. As much as some people would love to make one side or person the devil in this, it is a situation that is brought upon by mutual disagreement. It will not end until there is mutual agreement. That is all.

Who is his boss?... The owners...

And? The owners are the league.

The players and coaches are the league. The owners, own the league..My point was that he answers to the owners, so he gets boo-ed on television for the decisions they make....He's their guy, none of the hold out has anything to do with him specifically. And he can't resolve it. He can't side with the players... Why is everyone on his case? He's doing what he has to do....

 What world do you guys live in? The owners do not want to stop football! They lose money if that happens. Seriously, you are making yourself into an ADM poster.
"They don't want to stop football"*Owners locked out the players*
Which is a tactic to get a new deal. They do not want to stop football. If you believe that, then I have no choice but to question your intelligence.
