Gore and SJax backups (1 Viewer)

1. Is Robinson Gore's true backup? According to a couple of sites I use (including this one) he is listed as the backup. But...here is a News & Notes next to his name on Yahoo:

" Sep 4 Robinson appears to be the 49ers' third-string running back with Maurice Hicks earning the role of Frank Gore's backup, according to the 49ers' depth chart.

Recommendation: Thomas Clayton had a better camp than either Robinson or Hicks, but was waived and then signed to the practice squad. If Gore went down for any length of time, Clayton might be activated and receive the lion's share of carries at the position. "

2. Who is the right backup to grab for S-Jax? Leonard is listed as the FB, but he looked decent in pre-season (I know it was only pre-season). And Minor is listed as the backup. If SJax were to go down......who is the guy to grab?

:bag: Right, you've got two or three backup RBs on your roster, but a practice squad player is going to get more carries in case the starter goes down?

I like Yahoo for NFL coverage, but whoever is giving fantasy advice is pretty clueless.

That said, I'd also like to hear more definitive word on whether Robinson or Hicks seem like the better handcuff, or whether it would be RBBC and they'd both have minimal value.

Antonio Pittman?

No, not yet...if ever. Per Rotoworld:
The Rams will take a "wait-and-see approach" before determining a role for newly acquired running back Antonio Pittman. Our view:He'll most likely be inactive for the first few games. The Rams were high on Pittman during the draft process but question his receiving and pass-blocking ability. He has a ways to go before pushing Brian Leonard for time.
Keep in mind too that Leonard was the Rams 2nd round pick - Pittman is a 4th rounder. Leanoard is bigger, just as fast and has better hands as well. If you're looking to nail down SJax's cuff - I'd go Leonard easily.
