Gore (1 Viewer)

On one hand he's had a great start to the season and playing a weak run D in KC

On the negative side, sounds like he might still be sore from last week's rib injury since he is still listed as questionable, plus the fumbling problem might take goal line carries.

Anyone sitting him out this week to see how this all plays out?

I have Willis on my roster, and it's a toss. . . .not sure I can play an injured Barlow over a Willis that I missed out on 150 yards with last week.

Willis McGahee is actually my other RB too - just not sure this weekend with the matchups. Curious to see who people would start over Gore this weekend

Same boat, Willis and Gore; can't make up my mind.

Without giving away premium content, most of the predictions favor the SF run game a little this week, but have SF and the Bills in essentially the same tier.

I predict 110 rushing yards and 50/50 chance of a TD for Willis. In other words, I expect him to get 11, maybe 17 points.

IMO, Gore's injury and the "emergence" of Michael Robinson make Gore a risky play. But his relatively easy matchup could yield more points than McGahee will likely see. If Gore starts and goes off, I can safely see him with 130 yards and a TD, or 18 points. Of course, he could be hobbled and pulled at the goal line, giving him ~5 points.

For me it boils down to: do you need to take a risk and reach for Gore's higher ceiling? or can you live with 11 points from McGahee? I'm facing the number one guy and my lifelong FF nemesis this week. We trade the championship back and forth. I'll probably go Gore if I hear good things tomorrow.

I'm benching him only because I have other options (R. Brown/C.Taylor). I hope Gore does well, I want to be able to put him back in my lineup with confidence.

I guess Im the only one who doesnt think KC is an easy matchup. Either way Im still starting him over Jordan.

I'm starting Driver over him in my flex. I don't want to risk him taking a few hits and then the coaches shutting him down early.

Benched Gore in favor of K Jones. Injury / GL vulture concerns combined w/ mediocre STL rushing D steered my decision.

You are not the only one. People who say that the KC run defense is weak simply do not know what they are talking about. The past couple of years their run D has been tough outside of the Denver games. They regularly hold LT to 60 yards in each meeting. And during their last game, they actually held the Denver run game in check in Denver for the first time that I can remember. The Chiefs have only faced Denver and Cinci, two of the best running teams in the league. Denver RBs totaled their lowest yardage and lowest YPC vs. the Chiefs. Cinci RBs did gain less yards against the Steelers (82 vs. 98) but the YPC against the Chiefs was lower. Teams have run a number of reverses against them, but that doesn't help the RB stats very much.Start Gore at your own risk. The one benefit is the Chiefs O has made some untimely turnovers. Perhaps they can be for Gore's advantage.

Sorry, Had to.I am playing Gore because Willie Parker is on bye. My other option is Marion Barber III. I gotta go with Gore. This would be a good week for Tomlinson to score the amount of 2 RB's, but against the Ravens that could be tough.

I'm benching Gore in favor of Warrick Dunn.

I'll be out of town Sunday morning, so I won't be able to monitor Gore's playing status. I need a sure starter, especially when there's so little drop-off going with Dunn. Besides, the Chiefs strike me as a solid defense.

Benching him, but I've got stupid good options to go with (Westy/LT2) in his place. Most teams I believe should still be starting him.

I have Two to choose from so far it Gore and Jackson

Gore @ KC

Taylor, Chester @ BUF

Steven Jackson vs DET

I have the exact same dillema, but I was thinking Jax/Taylor. Why Gore over Taylor this week? Whats your take on the Buffalo run D?

I'm torn between Gore or Kevin Jones. Dunn is my #1 back, and I really like Gore. But sore ribs for a rb can really hinder performance. I think Jones and the Lions are due for a good game and a win, so right now, I am leaning towards Jones.

this is what is scary , numerous RB's seem to take big production hit because of this..I think it bother Ahman Green in his prime a few years ago and killed his stats...tough situation, guess it depends on their pain tolerance....Gore seems to be a fighter :boxing: going off his great recovery from past injuries.

I am starting Robinson this week....I think that Gore will at the very least share a large amount of carries this week...I don't see him getting the full workload dinged up, especially around the goalline

You could be right, but man that's ballsy.Don't you have better options?

I can bench Gore for Fred Taylor in one league but I'm not going to.

Starting: Gore & KJ

Am I nuts to bench Gore and plug in Maroney this week? This Dillon dilemma has got me perplexed more than the 49'er situation.

Hey man, you play to win....Its FWP's bye so I have either Robinson, Gado, DeWilliams, or Turner to go along with Rudi at RB.I could also go four wide and start Lee Evans or Mark Clayton....I think Ill roll the dice.

Fair enough.

The Chiefs held Rudi in check for the most part. He did have a good run for 20+ yards up the gut against them for the TD. However, the Chiefs run D has been pretty pathetic the past few years...as well as their pass D. But this year their run D is ranked #24 I believe and the pass D is #3! Quite the turnaround for them.Given that, I would start Gore against the Chiefs and feel comfortable (assuming his ribs don't hinder him). Now Antonio Bryant...that's a different problem.

Chiefs have a good D but, the Bengals were running on a slick field in week 1 and the Broncos, IMO, still don't have an everydown back. Gore will be unlike any RB the Chiefs have faced so far. His no2, Michael Robinson has a sore shoulder, that's more alarming than a sore rib. GOre is a good start this weekened. Too bad I don't own him in any of my leagues.

Thats my concern. I think there's no way Gore gets the GL, which is why Im playing Taylor. Buf is a tough place to play, but I'll take my chances.

Starting C Taylor over Gore. I am a little nervous about Gore's rib injury and have no idea how Robinson will be used. Taylor is pretty much the only guy that gets carries and does not get pulled at the goalline.

Starting C. Taylor over Gore. I will just wait to see how things play out with Gore vs. Robinson vs. rib injury. My team is pretty solid all the way around so i feel if i play it safe and just get some solid points I will be fine.

yes, I'm benching him in the one league I have him. But I also have the option of having Westbrook and Ronnie Brown in that league and it is PPR so even 100% healthy I might not have started Gore.

I did benched him in favor of McAllister. (2RB 1 Flex line up, others are Dunn, and R. Brown)

But when reports say he should play, I changed my mind.

But loosing goal line carries does concern me.

I just hope that he get TD longer than 20. We get 2x for that. :D

So if you're REALLY thin at RB do you consider starting Robinson this week in leagues where TDs = 6?

I am wondering the same thing. I am concerned about the injury and the goal line vulture. Gore could go down on the first carry or put up a decent game. However, I know that maroney will get some carries, but will it be enough to out-score Gore??? I CAN'T DECIDE!!! :wall:

Okay, gotta speak up here. I draft and start according to proof. It usually serves me very well. To be honest with you, there is no rib injury (abdominal strain) and the guy is usually gonna run it in from 4 + yards out. Start him with confidence as he will have a decent game.

I'm in the same boat with C. Taylo, Gore, and McGahee. I can't comprehend Willis going 4 weeks without a TD, gonna be windy again in Buffalo. I am very concerned about Gores injury. I'm a realist about the Bills run D.

I'm going with Taylor and McGahee over Gore.

I took the plunge and pulled a trade for Robinson in my dynasty league, just to be sure. Cost me a freakin' 2nd rounder next year thought. :(

I'm still starting gore...the guy has a lot to prove in terms of being labelled "always injured" already, so I think he plays through the rib pain and puts up nice numbers against the soft D. I HOPE so.
