Got any amazing stats from the 2011 season? (1 Viewer)

Raider Nation

Devil's Advocate
I'll start.

Through 15 games, Cleveland, Kansas City and St. Louis have COMBINED to outscore the Packers...

...by only 65 points. :loco:

POINTS SCORED

Packers - 515

Browns - 209

Chiefs - 205

Rams - 166

It looks like there will be at least 9 and probably 10 QB's over 4,000 yards and two should surpass 5,000.

Packers' opponents have totaled more yards than the Pack. Epitome of bend but don't break.

Going over 1000 yards rushing is kind of what is used for a standard for an "ok" year for an NFL rb. After this year only 5 rb's in the NFL will have went over 1000 yards rushing in each of the last 3 years.

MJD

Ray Rice

Steven Jackson

Chris Johnson

Cedric Benson

Peterson just missed five straight years by 30 yards. :(

Mendenhall has an outside shot at hitting this as well.

Really is not a stud back in the league right now on the order of a Sanders, Emmitt, Terrell, Peyton, or Faulk.

In a QB driven league there were 6 rookie QB's that started an NFL game this year. 3 of them may be a part of playoff teams. Dalton, Yates, and outside shot with Locker.

Newton

Dalton

Ponder

Gabbert

Locker

Yates

Arian foster might disagree with you. He has put up sick numbers considering he missed three games.

He has had two very good years, but those guys had long careers of studly years.

Cam Newton's rookie year so far:

Passing: 3,893 yards, 7.9 YPA, 20 TD/16 INT

Rushing: 674 yards, 5.6 YPC, 14 TD/2 lost fumbles

Totals: 4,567 yards, 34 TD's, 18 turnovers

Per NFL.com

The two Missouri teams (StL 15 and KC 19) have a combined TD total less than all teams but Miami (32), Cleveland (21), Jacksonville (24), Tennessee (32), Indianapolis (24), Washington (27), San Francisco (31), Seattle (33), and Tampa (27). This does not include Cincinnati who tied the pair with 34 TDs.

This is surprising if we think about the offensive expectations from the start of the season with two top "offensive minds", two stud RBs, two good QBs, and most of all - two weak divisions. In retrospect, the surprising part should be that these two teams had issues scoring points within the division.

Saints are well on pace to break the 2000 Rams' all-time single season yardage record of 7,075. Now at 6394 with 2 games left, current average of 457 yards per game.

AP is a stud, hall of fame quality back. Foster, Rice, and McCoy are studs. Not really sure what the long career comment has anything to do with it.

With all of these QB`s going off this year there will only be perhaps 1 pass catching player going over 100 catches this season (perhaps 3 with Graham and White but Graham would need 13 over the final 2 weeks which is doable and White would need 15 which is doable)... The last time that there was only one guy going over 100 catches was in 2006

2011

1 Wes Welker 116

2 Jimmy Graham 87 (2 games to play)

3 Calvin Johnson 85

2010

1 Roddy White ATL WR 115

2 Reggie Wayne IND WR 111

3 Jason Witten DAL TE 94

2009

1 Wes Welker NE WR 123

2 Steve Smith NYG WR 107

3 Andre Johnson HOU WR 101

3 Brandon Marshall DEN WR 101

5 Dallas Clark IND TE 100

5 Reggie Wayne IND WR 100

2008

1 Andre Johnson HOU WR 115

2 Wes Welker NE WR 111

3 Brandon Marshall DEN WR 104

2007

1 T.J. Houshmandzadeh CIN WR 112

1 Wes Welker NE WR 112

3 Reggie Wayne IND WR 104

4 Derrick Mason BAL WR 103

5 Brandon Marshall DEN WR 102

6 Larry Fitzgerald ARI WR 100

2006... 5 years ago

1 Andre Johnson WR 103

2 Mike Furrey DET WR 98

3 Marvin Harrison WR 95

The game is different. There has been a shift to more passing, partly due to rule changes, which is why there are several qb's having HOF type years. Consequently, the running game is taking a back seat.

There are already 3 guys that have 18 plus sacks on the year with one game to play....

2011

Allen 18

Babin 18

Ware 18

There have only been 3 guys total in the last 9 years since 2002 that have gone 18 plus sacks

2002

Jason Taylor 18.5

2003

Strahan 18.5

2008

Demarcus Ware 20

Speaking of sacks.... Despite having nobody over 8 sacks, the Bengals have 44 team sacks (3rd most) compared to only 24 given up (4th fewest). The +20 difference is the biggest in the NFL.

could also have something to do with good special teams play and big plays by the defense. like last year when san diego had the most yards on offense and the fewest on defense. but they were so horrible on special teams that their opponents' offenses didn't have the ball nearly as much and it skewed the stats for their offense and defense.

The Saints are 9th in the NFL in rushing at 127 yards per game.

Their leading rusher is Sproles, now at 563 yards. If Ingram plays next week he would likely become the 3rd Saints back with 500 yards on the season.

Per Darren RovellDrew Brees makes $7.39M this season, Aaron Rodgers makes $7.5M. Tim Tebow including bonuses, will make $8.3M
How much will the other 2 make including bonuses? Just curious as I see a little bit of apples to oranges in the wording there.
Good question...just read the tweet right before I opened this thread and thought it was interesting. I think Rodgers is actually around $10.5M IIRC. So move along, nothing to see here I guess.

-The #5, #6, #7, #8, #9, #10, #11, and #12 teams in total defense by points could ALL miss the playoffs.

-Miami, Philly, and Carolina all have scored more points than they've allowed in spite of what seemed like really bad seasons.

Meanwhile Denver and NYG, both of whom could end up in the playoffs, have -77 and -23 point differentials respectively.

-Tim Tebow leads the NFL in yards per completion

I think we can safely say that Brees and Rodgers may be bumped up, come next contract. I believe Brees' contract ends in March '12. Rodger's contract ends in '14. Both of them make more than $10 million a year over the life of the contract.

The Patriots have won 10 straight in the month of December. They are 33-3 in December dating back to 2003. All 3 losses have been to the Dolphins. The Dolphins nearly beat them again last week.

Tim Tebow leads the league in haters with over 50 million, leading the second place Suh by a more than three to one margin.
