Got any amazing stats from the 2011 season? (1 Viewer)

There are five teams in the NFL that don’t have cheerleaders — the Bears, Browns, Giants, Packers and Steelers. Those teams have won four of the last six Super Bowls and have made up half of the Super Bowl participants in that time.Coincidence?
The Lions don't have them either. They must be due!
Teams without cheerleaders have won 14/45 Super Bowls, or 31%, and a combined 47 league titles.

Larry Fitzgerald was targeted 153 times. He had just 1 drop all year.

The Saints have played 9 of their last 10 games in a dome. They've played 5 outdoor games and they are 3-2. They are 10-1 in a dome this year. They have scored 25.8 points outdoors, to 38 points in a dome.

In the last 9 drives the Saints started where they were backed up behind their own 20, they have scored 7 TDs.

In their last 8 drives outdoors where the Saints started backed up behind their own 20, they have scored only 1 TD.

The Houston Texans are the only team in the league with a perfect playoff record. :hophead:

The NFL converted on 1200 out of 1207 PATs in 2011 for a 99.4% success rate, the second best in NFL history behind 2008's 99.5%. While the last decade or so, PAT conversion rates tend to be 98% or above, if you go back to the late 1970s they were successful only about 90% of the time.

Could the lower conversion rate in the '70s be due to the fact that the goalposts were on the goal line until 1974?

That looks like it probably played a big role. Before 1974 it hovered around 95-96% pretty consistently. In 1974 it dropped to 90.6% (the lowest since 1944). It looks like it took about 10 years after 1974 for the percentage to climb back to what it had been before the change.

Per LA Times Sam Farmer

For only the 2nd time since realignment, all of the remaining playoff teams are division winners (2006)

Also, first time in NFL history divisional round features four Super Bowl MVP QBs: Brees, Manning, Brady, Rodgers.
