Reported shoulder injury.

According to the Chicago Tribune, "word is" Michael Bush has a shoulder injury.Bush was sidelined for a majority of the fourth quarter in Sunday's win. He refused comment on the Tribune's report, which is often tantamount to an admission of injury. Playing in the Monday night game, the Bears don't return to practice until Thursday. Consider Bush questionable for the time being. If neither Bush nor Matt Forte (ankle) can go against the Cowboys, it would mean a huge workload for Kahlil Bell on Monday Night Football.

1 rush for 18 yards and 9 rushes for 2 yards excites you?
That doesn't excite me, but Andre Brown had no carries for positive yards before the game last week either. Opportunity should make everyone exited...
Actually, Brown had 13 carries for 71 yards and a TD in the game Bradshaw got hurt. Bell had 10 carries for 20 yards in the StL game, much of those touches coming after Bush (might have) got hurt.

I know absolutely nothing about the guy. So would he even be worth a flex start? The numbers don't look very appealing. Any insight as to his skill-set and not just box score would be appreciated.

Anyone who has a chance to see 20 touches is worth rostering at this point..anyone.

Look at what Bell did in Weeks 15-17 last year after Forte went down. You'd have to be nuts not to take a chance on him if Bush is out this week. 10 for 20 last week was against a Rams team stacking the box to stop the run late.

If you are desperate for a RB to start this week, go for it. The Bears have a juicy matchup against the Jags next week and Bell would be a nice play if the Bears decide to give Forte an extra week of rest going into the bye.

Waivers runs tonight. There are some desperate one RB teams out there but they won't do market deals for my RB's. :coffee: So still owning 100% of my FAAB budget, I'll cockblock them into an even more desperate position by adding K Bell. :boxing:

Part of the problem here is that it's a Monday night game. Both Bush & Forte could be last minute decisions in which case you can't start this guy anyway for fear of being burned.

Hmm...I don't think I'm interested unless both Forte and Bush are ruled out early. Would be more interested if this were a 1 pm game instead of Monday; if you gamble on him and one of the others plays, you're probably out of luck.

defensive move against bush owner. I dropped my kicker then offered him a trade - brady & bell for brees.

May want to calm the hype:

Matt Forte (ankle) resumed practicing Wednesday, and "thinks he can play Monday."

Excellent news, but coach Lovie Smith cautioned Forte "still has a long way to go." It's doubtful Forte suits up against the Cowboys, but we'll know more by the time Chicago releases its injury report on Saturday. Michael Bush (shoulder) also practiced Wednesday, and appears to be fine after missing most of the fourth quarter in last week's win. Sep 26 - 4:00 PM

I don't know if that means anything. I read somewhere earlier today that the Bears wouldn't practice Wednesday, since they don't play until Monday. If that's correct, than Forte might have just run without cutting today.

From Espn...

http://espn.go.com/dallas/nfl/story/_/id/8428436/chicago-bears-matt-forte-returns-practice?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter

Chicago Bears running back Matt Forte, who sprained his ankle on Sept. 13 in a loss against the Green Bay Packers, returned to practice on Wednesday and said he hopes to face the Dallas Cowboys on Monday night.

"I didn't really swell up in the ankle," Forte said, "so that's the big part. When you have an ankle injury when the swelling is big, takes a long time to get it out. But I didn't really swell up, so I felt like I'd be back pretty soon."

They don't say if it was legit practice or weak as hell practice. But the fact that they are practicing and the game isn't until Monday night brings Bell's value to almost nothing at the moment.

Definitely dont disagree. But if it's a non-contact, run only type practice, then there is ZERO reason why Bush wouldnt be there... he has a shoulder injury, running is not the issue.

:goodposting: Actually, I'd say it's more than part of the problem...it's like 98% of the problem. Unless you're a Bush owner without a better replacement option, I don't see how you could justify having Bell on your roster, as we probably won't know who's starting until Monday.

As a Forte owner I find this to be encouraging news. I just added Bell and may be forced to start him on Monday should Forte not go.(At least I have an option) Given all the injured RB's in the NFL currently, guessing who actually plays has backups going off the wire at a fever pace. Add Bell as another one on the list. Now I'll await news on Bush, as should he go, Bell's opportunity all but disappears.

:goodposting: I'm a Bush owner who'd be leery about picking up Bell, much less even starting Bush on a Monday. Only way I'd commit is if I hear something definitive about Forte by Sunday morning, and doubt that's gonna happen. Think I'm gonna pass on Bush this week and not take a chance of getting burned.

I just picked up bell, but if I hear bush is not limited over the next day or two I am dropping him for something else. I agree that bell is really only worth something if you are invested in forte, bush, or have big benches....this is a one week thing

that's great if you have options. we are not all so lucky

Lovie said Forte "still has a long way to go". Although encouraging, I doubt Forte did much today. Odds are very slim that he suits up Monday.

As for Bush, I think it's just a matter of pain tolerance. It's not as if this injury is below the waist, in which case Bell really should be rostered in most leagues.

How much Bush actually practices this week will be the deciding factor when it comes to Bell, not Forte.

In a deeper league seems like he might be a worth while flex consideration as long as you've got alshon jeffery, bennett or someone like that as a back up plan

I don't know - it seems more and more likely that Forte will go on Monday:http://espn.go.com/chicago/nfl/story/_/id/8428436/chicago-bears-matt-forte-returns-practice

Everyone keeps referring to the same news when the Bears didn't even have an official practice yesterday. All Forte did was run without contact. I really wouldn't expect Forte to start. You're really risking getting burned if he's your only option on Monday.

any new info on Bush?
I read somewhere yesterday that Bush practiced in much the same fashion as Forte did. Sorry, I can't find the article right now. With regards to the previous poster, I thought the same thing about yesterday being a "no practice" day, but several places noted that the Bears DID practice. Whether it was a full practice, walk-through, shorts & shells day, or something else, I can't find out, though. The fact remains, however, that he (Forte) did something. While he may not play on MNF, this is a step forward, at the very least.

Agreed, it's definitely an improvement. But I feel like news sites are looking for anything to report on even if it's major big news, which can give a lot of Forte owners a false sense of hope for Monday night.
Running back Matt Forte returned to the field Wednesday for the first time since his ankle sprain against the Green Bay Packers Sept. 13.

Backup Michael Bush also practiced despite leaving the game against St. Louis early following a big hit. He had 18 carries in that contest, but only four in the second half.

Forte only went through individual drills, but the practice was a short one because the team does not play again until Monday night at Dallas. Based on the extra day off and his current health, Forte thought he would be able to play in the next game.

"I went through all the routes and everything. I can sprint," he said. "So I'll be good to go."

Coach Lovie Smith wasn't quite as optimistic, saying, "We have said he's making progress every day, which he is, and it's no more than that. But I would hold off on ... he's got a long ways to go still, but he is making progress and hopefully we can get him out there."

I wasn't really referring to the fact that he practiced, rather the fact that he seems to think he is completely healed. - of course time will tell.

Michael Bush insisted Thursday that his shoulder is "fine" and won't prevent him from playing in Week 4.

Bush acknowledges that he banged his shoulder, which kept out of the game in the quarter last week. He revealed, however, that he practiced "all day" Wednesday. The Bears didn't have a practice report for Wednesday because they have the Monday night game this week. "Nothing's wrong," Bush emphasized. "I'm good." Matt Forte's (ankle) status remains up in the air for Week 4. If Forte sits, Bush is a good bet for 15+ touches at Dallas. Don't bother picking up Kahlil Bell from the waiver wire -roto

looks like bush is the play Monday night if you want to start a bears rb
