Grab Kalil Bell NOW (1 Viewer)

Michael Bush insisted Thursday that his shoulder is "fine" and won't prevent him from playing in Week 4.Bush acknowledges that he banged his shoulder, which kept out of the game in the quarter last week. He revealed, however, that he practiced "all day" Wednesday. The Bears didn't have a practice report for Wednesday because they have the Monday night game this week. "Nothing's wrong," Bush emphasized. "I'm good." Matt Forte's (ankle) status remains up in the air for Week 4. If Forte sits, Bush is a good bet for 15+ touches at Dallas. Don't bother picking up Kahlil Bell from the waiver wire -rotolooks like bush is the play Monday night if you want to start a bears rb
If I was betting, Id believe the story.but until gametime, there's no way of truly knowing. Nicks said the exact same thing last week, and what happened?it being a monday nighter makes it the ultimate risk... 'luckily' I have some players to throw in my flex if Bell didnt get the start, otherwise I wouldnt bother.ill wait to at least sunday morning to make the decision

Forte eager to get back in action against Cowboys

Chicago Bears running back Michael Bush admitted he got hit in the shoulder during last Sunday’s 23-6 win over the St. Louis Rams but brushed it off as no big deal.

Bush didn’t identify which shoulder absorbed the hit. He practiced Wednesday and seemed prepared to do the same Thursday.

"I’m fine," Bush said. "I practiced all day yesterday. Nothing’s wrong. I’m good."

Bush was the first running back up with the first team Wednesday as Matt Forte was limited to just individual drills. Forte remains optimistic about playing against the Dallas Cowboys on Monday night after sitting out the Rams game with a sprained right ankle.

If Forte is unable to go, Bush seems likely to get his second consecutive start. He rushed for 55 yards on 18 carries with a touchdown against the Rams. But Bush ran the ball just four times in the second half as the Bears turned to Kahlil Bell.

Bush expects Forte to be in the starting lineup against the Cowboys.

"I think Matt will be up this week," Bush said. "I’m still learning and making sure I’m ready in case he’s not."

Lovie said Forte "still has a long way to go". Although ing, I doubt Forte did much today. Odds are very slim that he suits up Monday.

As for Bush, I think it's just a matter of pain tolerance. It's not as if this injury is below the waist, in which case Bell really should be rostered in most leagues.

How much Bush actually practices this week will be the deciding factor when it comes to Bell, not Forte.
I don't know - it seems more and more likely that Forte will go on Monday:http://espn.go.com/chicago/nfl/story/_/id/8428436/chicago-bears-matt-forte-returns-practice

Everyone keeps referring to the same news when the Bears didn't even have an official practice yesterday. All Forte did was run without contact. I really wouldn't expect Forte to start. You're really risking getting burned if he's your only option on Monday.
I wasn't really referring to the fact that he practiced, rather the fact that he seems to think he is completely healed. - of course time will tell.
yep - now looking like Forte will play:

still think bush is the play even if forte plays... maybe I am crazy

Bump ... Bears waived him today.

Any chance a team grabs him off waivers? Initially thought the Packers would be interested with how depleted the RB core is right now. Even Brandon Saine is injured. I thought Kahlil did a great job at the end of last year playing in place of Forte... surprised there was no interest in him as a free agent this summer.

McCarthy isn't very Belichek-ian but one opportunity might be to glean team knowledge from him. Not like they needed it though, with how the Packers demolished the Bears last time.

Jets? Powell hurt his shoulder and McKnight was banged up yesterday. Not a lot of depth behind Greene

Why would you bump this thread? Obviously, the title is now misleading since that happened 3 or 4 weeks ago.

"Kalil Bell released" may be a good new topic.

Per RW:

Jets signed RB Kahlil Bell, formerly of the Bears. The Bell signing doesn't say much for Steve Slaton, who was passed over in Tuesday's workout. Unlike Bell, Slaton has experience in Tony Sprano's offense. With Bilal Powell nursing a concussion and Joe McKnight battling a high-ankle sprain, Bell could back up Shonn Greene in Week 11.
