Green Bay Running Back News (1 Viewer)

CBS Sportsline is reporting that Morency is likely to miss week one

Vernand Morency, RB GB

News: The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel is reporting that Greg Jennings (hamstring) and Vernand Morency (knee) are very likely to miss Week 1 vs. Philadelphia.

Analysis: Morency missed the entire preseason and saw Brandon Jackson move past him on the depth chart. Jackson will likely see the lion's share of the carries to start the season. If he does well, then that will continue. If not, then Morency will get a turn. Keep Morency reserved in all Fantasy formats until further notice.

Pretty much sums it up

I'm starting Jackson over Portis and T. Jones this week. With Jennings out also, I'm hoping he'll see the ball 20+ times, including receptions(PPR league). The deciding factor is that it's one of the few games on TV that I can view(don't have directtv). I want someone to "root" for on TV the first week.

Start an unproven rookie over a VERY proven vet like Portis? A rookie who probably won't see the field enough (cus he can't block) to log 20 carries over a guy like Jones who will get 20 carries? Good luck crawling out of your league's basement.

Who exactly is going to take those RB snaps then if it's not Jackson? Morency didn't practice Friday, which is always a bad omen, and is listed as Questionable right now. Morency not playing at all would not be a suprise. Jackson will get touches by default.

(KFFL) The Green Bay Packers have declared SS Aaron Rouse, OT Allen Barbre, DL Daniel Muir, WR Greg Jennings, DL Justin Harrell, DL Mike Montgomery, OL Tony Moll, RB Vernand Morency inactive for Week 1.

And there you have it. Jackson will touch the ball 20+ times today. Who else is there? Wynn?

Just because there isn't an obvious guy to share the RB load doesn't mean they will give Jackson 20 carries. But hey, you can count on Jackson. I'll count on Portis.

(Rotoworld) In addition to Greg Jennings, Vernand Morency is inactive for Green Bay. The rest of the Packers' inactives: S Aaron Rouse, T Tony Moll, G Allen Barbre, DT Justin Harrell, DT Daniel Muir, and DT Michael Montgomery.

Impact: DeShawn Wynn and Ryan Grant are candidates to steal third-down work from starter Brandon Jackson, who is healthy and active despite dealing with a concussion a week back. Harrell was the team's first-round pick in April.
