Greg Hardy (1 Viewer)

Anyone watch this game? How does he look? 5 solos and 2 sacks looks enticing to me. Is this guy worth a speculative in a 20 team dynasty league? I've read the hype but is legit or what? Can anyone chime in?

Many thanks!

My main draft is on Sunday. Hope no one is paying attention to this guy - would be nice to pick him up with my last couple of picks.

Hardy was considered a possible first-rounder in 2009, but chose to stay for what turned out to be an injury-plagued final season at Ole Miss. The Panthers made out like bandits getting Hardy in the 6th.

Lamarr Houston and Matt Shaughnessy also had 2 sacks today. I think either of those guys has a better shot at starting and putting up consistent fantasy numbers than Greg Hardy does; for this year at least. So if you're looking for a sleeper DL for this season, i'd take a shot on either of those OAK DL.

He's definitely worth an add. I watched the entire game and was really impressed. All signs point to Hardy making an impact on this defense sooner than expected. Don't let his draft position fool you; the kid can play.

Shaunessy is probably gone, in a redraft Houston would be better but may be gone too. Fox usually hates rookies but there are opportunities on the line this year.

Fox is reluctant to give playing time to rookies because he trusts the veterans so much, but we have a defensive line in flux right now. All Hardy needs to do is show the same kind of effort he has been showing and he'll be seeing more snaps.

Dynasty leagues - I think he's definitely worth an add. Re-draft, only if you have space. I wouldn't drop a Shaughnessy for him. Or even Everette Brown. He has been a big contributor at camp and has generated a lot of buzz. In other words, it's not just the one big game where he has impressed. He wants to start. That's his mentality. If Foxy lets him is another story. With Tyler Brayton's sprained ankle, we could see a lot more of Hardy in the remaining three PS games.

Hardy seems like a guy that is going to either be great from day 1 --rapid ascent and become a very regular starter for CAR -- or fade into the background after training camp and have people asking in six months: "Who was that guy again from preseason?"

It looks very good right now for him though

From Rotoworld

Panthers sixth-rounder Greg Hardy is now running with the starters at right defensive end, ahead of Everette Brown.

That was quick. There's no indication yet that the move is permanent, but the Panthers have been very impressed with Hardy. He was considered a top-10 draft pick after his junior season at Ole Miss, and he showed difference- making ability in the preseason opener.

There has never been a question about Hardy’s talent level. Some scouts feel his pass rush ability was as good as anyone’s in the draft. It’s his durability, poor work ethic, and prima donna attitude which raised concerns and caused him to drop to the 6th. If he can stay healthy, and Carolina can keep him in check, he could be a very special player.

Is that because of the injury to Brayton? When Healthy would it be C. Johnson and Brayton?

I'd rather have Hardy then Everett Brown as a long term solution, at this point.

:lmao:
I had this very roster decision to make - keep Everette Brown or drop Brown and add Hardy. With this being a re-draft league, I elected to keep Brown. I have Hardy in a dynasty league already, so there was also some hedging involved with my decision. If he has a big game this wknd against the Jets, it might be very difficult for Fox to keep him out of the lineup, regardless of Brayton's or anyone's health.

Hardy 3 solos, 1 assist, 1 pd - I assume this was in garbage time?

Brown 5 solos, 2 sacks- this was with the first team?

In a redraft league is brown the obvious choice here?

Anyone watch this game that can chime in?

Brown's 2 sacks came in the Jets first and second drives. In the first Brown also stuffed a run for 1 yard and Greene lost a yard against him on a reception..

Hardy had a nice stuff at the start of the second quarter for -4 yards, but it was called back because there were 12 Caro players on the field, one was running off when the ball was snapped. His other stops came up vs Mcknight, early 3rd late 2nd quarters. Pass deflect was against OConnell.
