Greg Jennings (1 Viewer)

I know that Jennings practiced yesterday, and I haven't heard if he's going to practice today (I'm assuming he will). Do any Packers insiders know how close to 100% he is?

Last week, you could tell that Jennings was significantly hampered by his ankle injury, although he didn't reaggravate it. You could tell in the Minny game that he didn't have the game breaking explosiveness which he exhibited earlier this season.

In my view, Jennings needs two weeks off to nip this ankle thing in the bud, and the Packers are too thin at WR to give it to him. McCarthy is treading perilously close to the playoff mendoza line and he'll take Jennings at 70% over Jennings at 0% for two weeks because the Packers season could fade away in that span. Unfortunately it looks like diminishing returns for this talented rook for the foreseeable future, and it hurts because he really had it going. Hopefully I'm wrong because their passing schedule looks tasty.

Ruvell Martin seems to be picking up some of Jenning's slack. Before the injury, Jennings was getting nearly 9 targets a game. After the injury - 4 or 5. He's sitting on my bench until he shows some kind of improvement.

Going back on my previous post. Would like to start Jennings, he did practice Thu/Fri so he should be good to go, no? :wall:

Going with my gut and playing Horn over jennings as my #4 WR today. I expect a shootout with Cincy.

I'm in a similar boat trying to decide between Jennings and Henry (as well as Clayton). The Cincy/NO games does have the makings of a pointfest on paper.

I think A.Samuel is banged up and Hobbs will probably be on Driver(JMO). I think the Packers will have to throw a lot . I have a feeling Jennings has a pretty good day

That's the way I'm leaning (Samuel is out). If he didn't have the ankle issue I wouldn't hesitate. The other thing that makes me nervous is this is the type of game where the Pats have stepped up in the past. When it looks darkest they seem to get it done...than again, no one expected last week to happen since they've usually taken care of business at home against a team they should beat. Nothing is ever easy when it involves the Pats and fantasy football.

I have the exact same call to make, and that is what Ive decided on as well. Let's hope it works out for us.

I love the Jennings matchup today... Minny actually played him close last week.. Bad ankle and all he got some targets with a bad ankle. His ankle is said to better this week, I excpet him to have a decent day and score this week.

I hope so to take pressure off of DRiver.

per my leagues scoring, NE is allowing 29.7 PPG to WR's - 8th worst in the league, and 15.43 PPG to RB's, 6th in the league. It's clear to me that GB's best chances to win are through the air, especially with the nicked up NE secondary. If GB is to be sucessful passing the ball, Jennings has to be a big part of that. I'm starting him in my last fex spot ahead of Caddy, Maroney, and both Bells.

I'm starting him over Moose :loco:

The News

Already scrambling to cobble together their secondary unit, the Patriots lost two more starters from their defensive backfield on Saturday evening. ESPN is reporting that cornerback Asante Samuel and free safety Eugene Wilson were both downgraded from "doubtful" to "out" for Sunday's game at Green Bay. The loss of Samuel (knee) and Wilson (hamstring) means that the struggling Patriots, losers of two straight games, will face the Green Bay with just one player, cornerback Ellis Hobbs, who started in the secondary in the season opener.

Our View

This is great news for Brett Favre, Donald Driver, and Greg Jennings. The trio lit up the Vikings last weekend, and will look to do the same tomorrow against the Pats. Three weeks ago it appeared that New England was one of the stronger teams in the league, but injury issues have once again left gaping holes in their squad.

The good news: Favre has thrown to Jennings what seems like 50 times this half.

The bad news: Favre looks awful and couldn't hit the side of a barn. Jennings only has one grab.

That about sums it up. Jennings was targeted a ton of times in the first half. But Favre is just not accurate today and now Farve has suffered an arm injury. Jennings is looking really good out there, but Favre is not. I almost hope Rogers gets a shot in the second half. He can't be any worse than what Farve has shown today.
