have to be careful with Shanahan and his RBs. he's the same guy who wanted J. McKinnon and paid an absurd amount of cash for the guy, which left pundits and fellow coaches scratching their heads.despite the injury, McKinnon was nowhere near the free agent gem that they envisioned.
Shanny ran out 4 RBs last season and everyone got a piece of the pie and no one went over 1k yards.
doesn't matter that they traded up for Sermon and it doesn't mean that they're going to use him anymore than anyone else. They had a void to fill when Breida left.
IF, a big IF, Mostert keeps it together and plays 17 games, this is going to be the single most frustrating RBBC in the history of RBBCs. this has a worse feel to it than the NE backfield situation.
There's a lot of obstacles in place for Sermon, whereas guys like Javonta Williams and Michael Carter have MUCH easier paths to fantasy relevance , both with incompetent RBs in their way. JW should pass Gordon after this weekend. Carter should be the opening day starter. Both figure to get a ton of carries as rookies, and neither should be in a RBBC.
I really want to take a guy like Sermon, but I just don't see him becoming a pro bowl type RB in a Shanny offense which has been RBBC since he was in atlanta. follow the trend.
