Traded him with D. Bowe for 85 in a 12-team redraft.
sounds like daddy is trying to insult some of us..well I agree this is a bogus offer and wish the other teams good luck in your leagueWow...alot of "emo's" (as my 14 year old daughter calls them) on this board today.I totally disagree. It's not the end of the world, but identifies you as a tool (for fantasy trading purposes only. Nothing personal). As for me, I'm going to offer Young to the LT owner straight up. I don't think it would fall into the "insulting offer" category by any stretch. As I said, it's a starting point for discussion. I don't think it would fall into the "insulting offer" category by any stretch. It's going to come down to how desperate the Henry owner is. Driver might be where we eventually end up, but no harm in asking for Chad.good luck on getting Chad Johnson for...Selvin Young.
was anyone able to understand this?Seems many have done nicely. Posted earlier about a month before Travis is (Possibly) suspended, RBBC and such has made me wanting to move him, but as yet, unable to. Trades are a few and far between thing in the league I picked him up in this week. Offered him and Cooley for Dallas Clark and Witten owners yesterday (and their worst player), no luck. Today I offered owners of Chicago, Balt, NE and Pitt (And their worst player) for Young and Denver. Maybe................Have good RB depth there, just wondering how many others are hitting a?
I find it quite ironic that some of the posters in this thread have tried to rake me over the coals for merely suggesting that I might offer Selvin for Chad to the Henry owner. They suggest how ridiculous and insulting that offer would be, up on their high horses. Then, BeachBums chimes in above that he successfully did just that - traded Selvin and Bowe for Chad. There was an interesting thread on these boards a few weeks ago where one of the FBG's staff (maybe Levin or Bloom - can't remember who) suggested that anyone who gets "insulted" by any trade offer is missing the entire point of the offer as well as the art of the trade. ANY trade offer is merely an invitation for discussion. It can be a light-hearted negotiation, a hard-ball negotiation, whatever. But it constantly surprises me that there are those who play FF who take this thing way too seriosuly. I've played for many years with the same group of guys (and yes, this is a money league where the winner takes home over $1,000), we are good owners - not really a true guppy in the league (maybe a borderline one or two) but we have fun. We certainly don't get "insulted" by anyone making an offer, no matter how ridiculous because it's merely a way to get the ball rolling. Furthermore, I would never allow myself to get so emotional about so minor an issue in my life. Good for BeachBum for making a shrewd trade. And to those of you who get insulted so easily - relax and enjoy yourselves. This is a game!Traded him with D. Bowe for 85 in a 12-team redraft.Details you may not be interested in: Johnson's owner proposed the trade to me, I let it sit for a while while I tried to get Moss (Moss owner is 4-0, Johnson owner is 0-4) from the Henry owner, but all the talk how long it will take until Henry is suspended, RBBC in Denver, etc. made me think the Johnson owner might retract so I took it just after 1 eastern so I can still play Bowe this week (24 hours til trades take effect). Pretty good deal for two ww pickups!![]()
In Beachbums deal he traded Bowe and S. Young, when you said you only offered Young which is different, but not by a lot. I know that i sure as hell wouldnt accept beachbums trade anway. The fact that someone would makes me think that hes in a yahoo public league. I dont really understand what you are getting at with someone getting insulted by a trade offer. When someone gives me an insulting offer for a player, its not like im jumping up and down screaming and am gonna reply to the guy who offered me the trade with a rant. All that i would say is "You're going to have to do a lot better than that" or something. I certainly dont lose any sleep over it or anything if that is what you are trying to get at..I find it quite ironic that some of the posters in this thread have tried to rake me over the coals for merely suggesting that I might offer Selvin for Chad to the Henry owner. Most of me being able to make that trade was that he proposed it to me. Maybe a lot of the 'insulted by the offer' stuff has to do who does the proposing. If I had my current roster with Chad added on and someone came to me with Bowe and Young for 85, I'd tell em to go fly a kite. 'Are you high??!!' The guy is new and maybe a guppy - he is 0-4 - but he's also desperate at RB and has been blowing his wad on the ww trying to get something decent. And then I scooped him on S. Young. I actually feel kind of bad - 85 is all he has. I'd probably offer a decent RB to him for Young if Young turns out to suck.ETA: I mentioned I tried to get Moss from the Henry owner with Young, but I packaged Young with Steve Smith.I find it quite ironic that some of the posters in this thread have tried to rake me over the coals for merely suggesting that I might offer Selvin for Chad to the Henry owner. I am debating on offering the Henry owner Young for MaroneyThis is a Dynasty League Someone a couple of posts ahead said how much value young would have in a Dynasty, but surely not as much as Maroney. Right?Would you offer Young for Maroney in a Dynasty if you are needing RB help?Maroney for Selvin Young (redraft)
