Has anyone traded LT in their dynasty leagues? (1 Viewer)

Just curious as to what people are getting in return for LT in dynasty leagues?

Well I just ended up trading him, here is the trade. On a side note, I had Vick as my QB which was incentive to get another QB:

I gave up Campbell, Jason WAS QB;Tomlinson, Ladainian SDC RB;Turner, Michael SDC RB;Coles, Laveranues NYJ WR;Hackett, D.J. SEA WR; Year 2007 Draft Pick 12.12;Year 2007 Draft Pick 13.12;Year 2007 Draft Pick 14.12;Year 2007 Draft Pick 15.12

FOR

Young, Vince TEN QB;Benson, Cedric CHI RB;Parker, Willie PIT RB;Boldin, Anquan ARI WR;Williams, Roy DET WR;Williams, DJ DEN LB; Year 2007 Draft Pick 4.08;Year 2007 Draft Pick 5.08;Year 2007 Draft Pick 6.08;Year 2007 Draft Pick 7.08; Year 2008 Round 1 Draft Pick from Team B

I did it.

I took Priest Holmes and Larry Johnson. Priest was healthy at the time and I believed and still believe

that LT2 is overworked and a breakdown is a certainty. That's my story and I'm Sticking to it!

I would if the right offer came up.

I was going to take Rudi Johnson, Roy Williams, Adrian Peterson and Def Plyer who I cant remember, but the other owner decided it was to much to pay for LT.

You think Tomlinson is overworked and likely to break down, so you traded him for the player who set an NFL record for most carries in a season last year? :D

This thread is mostly redraft, but there's a bit of a dynasty perspective in there, and it does give a pretty good idea of what people think LT is worth.

This trade went down in Phenomz Dynasty on July 13th....

Tomlinson, Ladanian SDC RB

Moss, Santana WAS WR

for

Gore, Frank SFO RB

Johnson, Andre HOU WR

I know of one.

LT2

Hines Ward

Santanna Moss

-for-

Joseph Addai

DeAngelo Williams

And a 1st round 2008 pick.

The LT2 owner is now loaded for this year and has a lot of older players with serious production.

The Addai/Williams owner has a young running back stable (even beyond these two) now and an incredibly loaded future.

I got LT this offseason (the LT owner initiated the trade mind you.....I would never have even approached him in the fear of being laughed at). But the LT owner just got hammered this off season and decided to build for future with younger talent.

1st a little bit of background. This guy made a bunch of trades before the start up dynasty draft last year and got LT at #2 and Portis at #4. Needless to say he got in the playoffs thanks to LT but did not win anything.

Now, in the offseason, he just got hammered because:

His QB is Vick - Ouch

His #1 TE is Des Clark/Bears - Ouch with Greg Olsen there

His WRs are - Keyshawn Johnson, Mike Furrey, Marty Booker, Ashley Lelie; Matt Jones etc (just a steaming pile of garbage)

So he approached me with the following trade which I promptly made:

LT+Portis+Betts+1.10 rookie draft pick + Des Clark (TE)

for

Reggie Bush+ McGahee+Kellen Winslow II+1.05 rookie draft pick+2.10 rookie draft pick

With the top 4 clear dynasty picks defined (Calvin Johnson; ADP; Lynch and Brandon Jones I really had no clue what to do with 1.05 anyways so this was easy)

My new team (not listing all of the depth but key players):

QB: Carson Palmer; JP Losman

RB: Portis; LT2; Betts; Tatum Bell

WR: Marvin Harrison; Darrell Jackson; Eddie Kennison; Rod Smith; Amani Toomer; Chris Henry

TE: Tony Gonzalez; Des Clark

*Championship*

PS: What I am also thrilled about is that before this trade I traded Matt Jones to him for Tatum Bell. That is looking like a great deal for me too right now.

Priest hasn't been healthy in a couple of years so this trade must've been before last year.

I traded for him in a sign and trade deal with the LT owner. He was franchised by the other owner, I made the top bid, had him resign him at an 80% discount (part of rules state that a Franchised player can be resigned by the same team at 80%) and then he traded him to me. I traded Addai and two first rounder for him. LT would've been $8 million of a $32 million cap and the guy didn't have the cap room. I did and I had a top young RB and the picks.

One of the first rounders is the 1.1 this year.

the former Gore owner must be on cloud 9. what a steal.
I actually made this deal.LT and SMoss were placed on the table,I took it, I then dealt SMoss and a future 1st rounder, for Torry Holt.In the end, I ended up trading :Andre Johnson, Gore and a future 1stforLT and Torry Holt. The rest of my team is preety young,so I could afford to take on some age with LT and Torry..

This trade happened in one of my leagues right before our rookie draft:

* T_R's Titans gave up McNabb, Donovan PHI QB;Tomlinson, Ladainian SDC RB;Holmes, Santonio PIT WR; Year 2007 Draft Pick 1.10;Year 2007 Draft Pick 6.10

* Primetimers gave up Manning, Peyton IND QB;McGahee, Willis BAL RB;Westbrook, Brian PHI RB; Year 2007 Draft Pick 1.01;Year 2007 Draft Pick 3.12

This is one of the biggest blockbusters I've ever seen since I started playing. The LT owner got a boatload. Note the 1.01 (AP) pick too.

you'll still get a good 3+ year run with those guys. good deals.

LT has been traded twice this offseason in my dynasty league.

1st time:

LT

for

McNabb, Donovan PHI QB; Benson, Cedric CHI RB; Westbrook, Brian PHI RB; Houshmandzadeh, T.J. CIN WR, 2007 pick 1.09, plus $500 (each team gets $500 per year to spend on restricted free agents as well as waivers during the season)

That was crazy insane. The owner that traded for LT was actually a competant owner before this. A month or so later he and another owner decided to leave (amicably).

The new owner that took over his team spent a couple of months trying to trade LT for a king's ransom, to no avail. He then made offers to half the league, and one guy snapped up LT for:

Gore and Holt

He could have gotten a bit more if he was patient, but not a terrible deal.

I made this trade back in Feb 07:

ebolacolas gave up Bulger, Marc STL QB; Tomlinson, Ladainian SDC RB;Caldwell, Reche NEP WR;Parker, Eric SDC WR

NukDoggyStyle gave up Manning, Peyton IND QB;Henry, Travis TEN RB;Branch, Deion SEA WR;Walker, Javon DEN WR

A little background:

It's a salary cap dynasty league ($200 per team) and was a team I took over. Had just about zero cap space. I had Parker and Caldwell as my starters IIRC.

Now have T Henry @ $2, B Jacobs @ $1, and R Brown @ $101 at RBs, Branch and J Walker at WR's, and Peyton @$62 at QB.

With cap room to spare.

Hated to trade LT, but given the situation the team was in, I believe it was the right move.

to clariy things:LT has 2050 career carries to his name, as well as 398 receptions. He's 28.

LJ has 892 carries to his name, with just 97 catches. he's 27 , soon to be 28 ( november 19th). All things being equal, there is a HECK of a difference betwen both RB's, based on these numbers, alone. the 416 carries last season, is nothing to be alarmed about..that means he's rushed just 476 times , in 3 previous NFL seasons; that's child's play..

If LJ had 2050 lifetime carries, and rushed 416 times last season, THEN I'd be worried. but we're talking about a young whipper-snapper who hasn't been used to his full potential yet! he has less than 1000 carries on the odometer..this car is barely broken in!

LT, on the other hand, has nowhere to go but down. in NO WAY will he come close to repeating last year's historical stats..

he'll fall back to approx. 1350 yards, and 13-15 tds.

good stats, but not anything like what he accomplished in 2006..

The paralysis of analysis has taken hold.....I can sum this one up in 3 words....

"you've been robbed."

Never had the luxury of having him in a dynasty league, but if I did I would be tempted to move him this year. The only reason I say this is that I don't think he could EVER have a season like last year again so I would be selling as high as possible - it would have to be a blockbuster, but I would probably throw a few offers around.

I understand the idea of selling high, and if you can get a king's ransome, then by all means grab it, but it's not likeLT's numbers are going to fall off a cliff this year.He is still far and away the best RB on the planetand I don't expect this to change for the next 2-3 years. He is running stronger than ever, and has not been hampered by injury.

Two seasons ago I traded LT2 for Priest Holmes and Steve Smith. Tomlinson started poorly and Smith had a career year. This is an auction keeper and after Holmes was lost I moved Smith for LJ. I get LJ for $6 this year with a $200 cap. Didn't work out completely but, Tomlinson consistantly goes for nearly $100 each year. I've got all sorts of dough for the rest of my squad. Oddly enough, I may be spending some $$ on Priest.

I've shopped him in the one league I own him. I didn't get anywhere near the offers I'm seeing in these posts.

Really do think this is the time to sell him ala SA last year. Obviously not if you don't get a strong enough offer but usually there's atleast one person in every league who has the ammo and desire to acquire him.

It all depends on the strength of your team, but if you have some weak starters and you can get top tier younger players for him I think now is the time to do it. If he has an off year ("only" top 5) then his value will dramatically drop next year with him being 29. He'll never have value again like he does right now.

I'd be hesitant to part ways with LT but you absolutely robbed the guy. Well done. :hifive:
