You just really havent seen the injuries to injury prone players like McNabb, Warner, Santana, Jacobs that you would expect. Your thoughts people?

My thoughts are that I'm having a good laugh at all the owners who permanently tag someone "injury prone" and passed on Warner, Jacobs, et al based on that.I'm sure injuries aren't that much less frequent now than in other seasons. Talk to a Seahawk or Broncos fan about how low injuries are in 2008.

My thought as well. The luck of some individuals, teams, and positions varies from year to year. But overall I don't think this year stands out as being particularly "healthy". The list quoted in the 1st post goes down to 3rd stringers and guys who just missed a part of a single game. You could easily put together a list just as long from this years casualties.I think QBs have taken a beating this year. Brady, Romo, and Palmer were top 5 QBs. Hasselbeck, Young, Kitna, Schaub, Orton were also injuries with fantasy relevance. At RB, SJax, Westbrook, and Addai are all injured 1st rounders. Toss in LJ, Maroney (the whole NE mess, infact), everyone in Denver, FWP (and Mendenhall), the mess in Baltimore, Grant, the mess in Oakland, Reggie Bush, Stewart, Felix Jones.WR doesn't seem to have as many high impact injuries. Colston, Boldin, Galloway, everyone in Seattle, Curtis, Chambers, Holmes, Walker are a few drafted guys who've been hurt off the top of my head. Ocho Cinco hasn't missed games, but that injury certainly impacts his status. At TE, Winslow, Shockey, Heath Miller, Watson, Scheffler, LJ Smith have all missed games. Not a complete listing by any means. But without digging too deep, I think there have been plenty of impactful injuries. Maybe not more than 2007, but so so few that I think it stands out as an unusually healthy year.

1. McNabb and Warner aren't injury prone. Donte Stallworth is.

When you break a thumb or ankle or get a hernia, that's not injury prone. If you can't run for a full game without pulling a hammy, you're injury prone.

A guy like Westbrook is between these two categories. I don't believe he's physically prone to injury but I don't believe he's physically capable of taking punishment either.

2. RBs are still getting injured, but the RBBC phenomenon has given the league more RBs to plug in and get 12-18 touches. SJax, McGahee, Bush and the Denver backfield still get hurt.

3. IDP should be included, as every LB in Denver is now out. Those guys get hurt too.

Bottom line - injuries happen every year. It's a collision sport, not a contact sport.

Maybe overall there are less injuries...but anecdotally I have lost -

Romo (several weeks)

Bush (several weeks)

Pittman (out season)

Torain (out season)

EJ Henderson (out season)

Laurence Maroney (out season)

Zach Diles (out season)

Jermaine Phillips (out season)

8 players on a 24 man roster. In fairness, Torain was a pickup to replace Pittman and not actually drafted.
