Have owners who can't make it to draft? Stream it live! (1 Viewer)

My league has a live draft every year, but we have a couple owners all the way across the country who can never attend. Well, this year, they get to be in on all the fun because we're streaming the draft live on our CBS Sportsline home page!

Here's how you can do it:

1. Sign up for an account at www.ustream.tv (this is free, BTW) and you can stream anything live as long as you have a webcam.

2. With CBS Sportsline, you can embed the live stream right in the commissioner section of your league home page. That way, they can sort of feel like they're actually at the draft. Just paste the code from ustream.tv into the commissioner's message section of the home page.

You can also embed previously-recorded clips there as well, so you could do a weekly recap live on the site and embed it (or whatever else you want to broadcast - all you need is a webcam.)

I think MFL and other fantasy sites probably would allow this as well, but I know for sure it works on CBSSL.

Not sure if this has ever been posted, but I thought it was pretty sweet.

how would this be any different from just having a webcam while your talking to your friends over the innernet on chat or whatever?

We always have a webcam running on yahoo IM, and everyone stops by to say hi to the people who can't make it.

yes there are many ways to broadcast a webcam online for free... ustream.tv does seem to make it very easy. But it's not the only option.

yes, they could, but you deal with popups and so on..seems like this one is just one live feed, without the yahoo IM B.S.

This isn's a CBS Sportsline funnction other than the fact that they allow you to embed video on the league home page.
