Three times being arrested, cuffed once.
1st Arrest - Possession of Alcohol underage. I was 16, and some of my friends and I were going to a party of a person we knew from another high school. We bought some beer, and had it in the back of the car, but hadn't opened it yet. We weren't sure if we were at the right house in a neighborhood so we parked where we saw a lot of cars. We were sitting in the car waiting to see if we saw anyone we knew pull up. Two guys approached the window and knocked on it, I rolled down the window a little and my friend said, "Hey Tex" to the guy with the cowboy hat on, he flashed his badge and said for us to get out of the car with our hands out of our pockets. We got arrested by the vice squad. They searched our car and found beer. Turns out we were at the wrong house in the neighborhood. Anyway, we followed the vice squad guys to the police station, and we had to call our moms. The boss of the cops was not pleased that they arrested four teens that had alcohol when they were supposed to be doing a drug bust at that house. We had to do community service, and it was expunged. The legal drinking age at this time was 18.
2nd Arrest - Freshman year in college. I went through a DWI roadblock, and I stupidly told the officer that I had drank a couple beers earlier in the evening when he asked if I had anything to drink that night. He told me if I blew a .10 (which was the legal limit back then) or below he would let me go. I blew a .10 and he didn't let me go. Liar. I got booked at the station, and then he let me go without having to post a bail.
3rd Arrest - Junior year in college. I was arrested for obstructing an officer. An officer turned on her flashing lights when some friends and I were getting out of the car going into our apartment. She asked the driver of the car for her license, and then wanted to give her a field sobriety test. I asked the officer what was her probable cause in the first place, and the officer told me to go into my apartment. I asked her again what was her probable cause. She said if I said another word she would arrest me, and I asked her why she wouldn't answer the qusetion, and she cuffed and arrested me. That officer was just guessing that the driver had been drinking, because we were coming back from the direction of downtown (which was only about 8 blocks away), and we saw the officer sitting in the lot, but didn't think anything of it since the driver was going a little under the speed limit since the streets were wet from an earlier rain, and we were in a residential neighborhood. The officer had some cadet riding along with her, and I think she was showing off. Anyway, my case was dismissed in court with the agreement that I do 20 hours of community service, and I ride along with officers at night for a total of 20 hours. I did all that was required and it was dismissed. I've been an angel since.
