Trying to get some idea of what percentage of men are the subject of false rape accusations.

Never. Just had a girl lie and say I knocked her up, and the next time I saw her she pulled a knife on me. Good times.

First year of college I went home for homecoming weekend. Ended up hooking up with a girl I knew from high school (3rd base only) completely consensual. Her brother walked in on us and got pissed (Mormon family). Received a call two or three day later that her father wanted to press statutory rape charges against me (I was 18 she was 17). Any how they finally ended up dropping the charge after getting my parents involved. Now I would sue the police for contacting my parent and probably counter sue the dad for defemation. If he only knew how many times his little girl had been passed around.

I don't understand this part.

To give her an ounce of credit, girl was smart enough not to take it that far. I think she realized she was at fault, eventually, but we never cared enough to find out.

I was twenty, living at an off campus apartment with three others. She fooled around with my roommate (just two bedrooms), so I did the good roommate thing and stayed out drinking with the neighbors. When they were done I called it quits and went to bed. I woke up in my bed to that girl naked slapping me in the face and storming out. Roommate and I kinda looked at each other shrugging our shoulders. He asked me what happened. I told him, we laughed, then went back to sleep.

Harassing phone calls and im's (lol) started the next day sometime. Really hit their peak the following weekend. Guessing she was drunk and running her mouth at another party. About this point I deferred anyone that asked to my roommate. Thankfully he is a good guy and didn't mind telling the same story over and over again and eventually it died. Resurfaced occasionally, usually from one of her drunk sorority sisters, but enough people knew what was what at that point that we just laughed at them.

As stupid as the laws are, he is probably guilty. He has no winnable action against any of the parties nor does it matter how many times she was passed around.

A quick google of "age of consent Utah" is kind of weird. Apparently women's age of consent is 16, and it's 18 for men. WTF? It also looks like this wasn't statutory rape under Utah law anyway.

Never been accused of rape. Knew a guy that was accused but if you knew the girl you knew the truth. She wasn't one to break-up all that well. I think the break-up ultimately cost him 7 tires.

I was am adult. They should have contacted me, not my parents. Small town, they thought they could intimidate my parents.

Yeah I assumed Utah because of the Mormon thing.

It was a criminal investigation at that point, right?

I guess. When all the dust settled the officer apologized for involving my parents. Nothing ever came from it.

1. Wickenburg?

2. It's possible you actually may have been chargeable under AZ law since you were in college and she was still in HS. Glad to see some prosecutorial discretion though.

Really? So, if he went and just got a job instead of going to college, not a crime? What if he was in the military? Or, what if he just lived in his parents basement? Some laws are stupid.

I only got to 3rd base so that is why they ended up dropping it.

Perhaps, small town and all, the Officer thought parental mediation, what with you being home from school and her being a minor, was the way to keep the matter from becoming a full blown criminal investigation. Do you allow his heart was in the right place? Does the Officer, or did the Officer know your parents and the other parents? If your child, barely over the age of majority were involved in something involving another's minor child might you be grateful for that type of handling of the matter?

Sounds to me like cooler heads prevailed. Sounds like it was dealt with , with some sensitivity rather than as a run away investigation, which these things can become.

lol, I think I answered incorrectly in the first question, so if anyone is wondering about the rapist in the midst, that may have been my vote. I was shocked when I saw the results, and only one vote where I thought I clicked. :bag:

Nevermind... I see the star now. I'm good. There actually is a rapist in our midst!!!

One of my friends dating a girl who claimed someone raped her. I was kind of friends with the accused guy in between the alleged rape and her dating my other friend, but never knew until later, and after we had stopped hanging out.

I answered "no" on the second question because I don't know a lot of the details. I don't even know if an accusation was ever made. They had mutual friends at school who hung out with both of them, but I never heard about the allegations until years later.

Not quite the vein you're hoping for but me ex-roommate had a girlfriend make up a story about being raped just to get more attention my ex-roommate.

Calls like at 2am screaming on he phone for the roomie. (this is pre cellphone era)

Saw her about 10 hours later at the house. She's telling me how she got punched so many times that her eye had swollen shut and was all black and blue, had her lip busted, etc. She looked perfectly fine without a single scratch on her. Just wanted roomie to hurry on over and give her attention. She was a total loon.

A friend of a friend was falsely accused. Girl had broken up with her boyfriend and she went out for 'revenge' sex. My buddy's friend was all to happy to oblige and some jackass at the party took a video of them doing the deed (he had his apartment wired up EVERYWHERE). The doosh put the video up somewhere, the girl gets embarassed and said she was drugged.

There was a HUGE investigation and, in the meantime, my buddy's friend was fired from his job after the cops came to arrest him, he was assulted by the girl's ex-boyfriend and his girlfriend left him (ok, he deserved that). Girl later recanted and was basically "oops, sorry, I was embarassed". The cops didn't do anything to charge her because 'they didn't want future rape victims to feel they can't speak up'. To this day, no one knows exactly what the hell that even means.

No. Unfortunately did have an (ex) friend / frat brother who did date rape a very good (female) friend of mine, and a couple other girls I knew as well... this is early 90's when it was just becoming something people were aware of, and it was a legitimate issue where some girls didn't even equate that they had been raped. Basically, they were wasted and half (or more) passed out. Not sure if there were roofies or anything, but these girls had no reason to lie and honestly, it was done quietly but word got around.

Divided the frat a bit as he was one of the more popular - and fun - guys, but in the end we kicked his ### out and not long after he was either kicked out of the college or left. Not a pleasant thing to go through, and makes me REALLY pissed when there are false accusations because real ones, like this, then become ignored or not believed.

So what did happen? I'm not sure I'm following your story. You may or may not be a rapist.

He raped her in their sleep?

Up to 80% false rape accusations. This is pretty disturbing.
I see no flaws in asking the accused whether they were falsely accused or not.

We need to create some kind of organization or movement to deal with this crisis. Someone needs to create a logo and infographic, start a twitter account, and let's get a march on Washington set up...for the Spring when the weather's nice...nobody wants to be out there in the cold all day.

I went to sleep and woke up to a naked woman smacking me in the face.
