Have you ever been indebted to gangsters? (1 Viewer)

Im watching Rounders on Netflix and wondering if anyone here has ever owed a gangster money or otherwise had an interesting run in with them.

Or if you are a gangster tell us a story about breaking a guys thumbs.

Again? I thought you left?

Not trying to be rude or cause you to lose your siot, I just don't get on here as much these days but I thought you took your ball and left, like 6 times already?

What's the deal?

NO! NO! NO! Get the #### out!!! Please!!! This place was halfway readable again, and you promised you were leaving. Don't do this. Please.

Nope. In my life, I play my cards right. I never run my mouth and I don't start fights. I'm a deep thinker and that does keep me from sleeping sometimes. The only thing I haven't done yet is run for political office.

You sound perfect for politics.

See what you get.

That is a van that was recently randomly pulled over, it had two mobsters in it, with current and past ties to legal gambling, it had small windows, a modified wooden chair for sitting, stripped insides, and guns, a silencer, and cannon fuses/explosive fuses, binding cord in it.

What do you think that's for?

Very interesting. One of the guys was 72 and still carrying out assassinations, you think he would have earned some rank by now or he must just really enjoy killing.

Where the hell do you get cannon fuse these days?

Actually one of them is the son of a former underboss for Carlos Marcello and Anthony Carrollo (Marcello's successor). He is probably Made. The other guy used to manage a casino down here in the 90's and most recently has been managing poker companies in Las Vegas.

I am pretty sure those guys have a company store.

I mean they probably have their own supplies of whatever they need and some of it probably dates way back. I doubt they go to some ammo store or Wal-Mart. In fact it wouldn't surprise if that van got passed around according to whoever needed it for whatever "project."

The guys are pretty old but certainly post cannon age.

They must have gotten it as some magic store. I can only see magicians using that stuff.

Funny to think of them bombing a guy with an old bowling ball style bomb. These guys are the definition of old school.

  • 37mm Fused Payload Cup This fused payload cup can be used to make homemade smoke rounds and Pepper Gas Rounds. The fuse is molded into the plastic. There is very little time delay. Comes with information on how to make smoke composition and where to get the supplies. The large cup can be used with our 2 or 3 inch aluminum hulls. The small cup can only be used in the 2 inch aluminum hull.
Etc. Ain't nothin' nice. That's a survivalist website.

The dad of my best friend growing up was the collection guy for the mob. Great guy and tons of fun as a kid to grow up around him. Completely insane now that I'm an adult and have kids. He slept with his kids girlfriends, shot magnums in basement, threw guys threw plate glass windows, had garbage bags of pot pot around the house, stole trucks all the time...crazy stuff. I would not want him coming after me but as a kid growing up around he was an awesome guy. As he got older he approached me and wanted to write a book but I'm not a writer but I know he had stories that would blow me away.

His sons girlfriends?

Thats terrible. Everything else I approve of.

If you have/had a local bookie, answer is yes. If not always, most times locals are connected through many chains to a "family." The agent, or collector that you deal with, gets ~25% of your losses, and the rest goes to the family.

Ya, his son probably 17 at the time hit him with a wrench in the side of the head.My dad told me this story years later...he sees my dad jogging one day and says "hey Fred, want to go for a run on Saturday?" Dad says sure. Saturday morning comes...Dad stops by the house, Don is ready to go, gives his wife a kiss and they start jogging around the block. Suddenly he stops and tells my dad "I'm going to go F?&$ this broad, come by in about 30 minutes and pick me up."

Another time he hears of a low level mobster close by that stole a rug truck. He goes to the guys house and steals the truck from him. I'm about 13 at the time and I ask him if he's scared or if the guy will come after him. And he says "what's he gonna do? Call the cops?" He was the f'n man.

He got f'd up bad. I think it nearly killed him. Went down in their garage when he was working on his car. Son grabbed a wrench a pummeled him. My buddy told me about this years later when we were grown up. I didn't witness it.

Did he just accept that he deserved it or was his relationship with his son ruined?

Killing is his business and business has been good since the Eisenhower administration.

I had one suicide under my watch in a 20+ year career in the military. Very quiet, unassuming guy. His own kids found him hanging from a tree in the woods behind their house. I was stunned. Just didn't seem like the type that would ever do something like that. Turned out he was in debt heavily to the mob and didn't want to put his family at risk. And this happened while stationed at a small base in the South. Not exactly the place you'd expect someone to be able to even find the mob, yet along get in trouble with it.
