Have you ever been to Finland? (1 Viewer)

Nope, can't imagine wanting to go during the wither either.

Northern lights can be seen in Northern Norway also if you are into that sort of thing.

Have no idea which is more economical.

Enjoy your (close to) zero hour days up there though

I went to Finland in 1981 with my High School basketball team to play in a summer tournament.  It was a very cool place.  Girls were beautiful and it stayed light in Helsinki until like 11:30. Plus, the drinking age was 18 so we went nuts.

I would go back.

The Northern Lights are visible on roughly 200 nights a year – or every other clear night – in Finnish Lapland.

What does it matter?!

We are looking to go in the next couple of years. More than likely to do a 4 day trip.
Good luck filling 4 days. Not like there's Finnish cuisine to enjoy or Finnish historical areas to walk around. You can go up north and visit Santa's village at the arctic circle or see the northern lights but that's gonna be in winter when its -30 or -40 Celsius. Have fun with that.

Finland is one of the most social countries I have ever been in.  Helsinki is filled with festivals for families, great restaurants, and awesome things to do all winter long.  We met so many great people while we were there and really felt like we were part of the culture.   You always feel safe, everything is clean and people are polite.

See much northern lights in Helsinki?

Best vacation I ever had was in Finland. Drove there from Germany, stayed at a lake house in Central Finland for 10 days. Saw everything, people were great, country looks like Michigan or Wisconsin with trees and lakes. Loved it.

No doubt it is safe and clean. People are generally friendly. There is just nothing to do or see.

I'd imagine a lot of hot blond chicks there, so they've prob got that going for them.
Take a short ride to their neighbor on the left and you'll see the hottest women per capita in the world, although Ukraine might have something to say about that. Finnish women can be hot but most are very plain and ordinary.

I imagine that in the winter time they will be wearing lots of clothes too...

Saw great northern lights while on a fishing trip to Lake of the Woods, MN.

But yeah, I'd love to go to Finland.

See the løveli lakes.

The wøndërful telephøne system.

And mäni interesting furry animals.

Including the majestik møøse.
