So, HBO put out it's HBO Now app and service this week, in time for the Game of Thrones season 5 premier this Sunday.

I downloaded it and I was under the impression you could watch HBO streaming live, as it is being broadcast alongside cable providers. Opening it, it looks more like HBO Go, without the need for a cable TV subscription.

Anyone else download it yet? Is the season premier of Game of Thrones going to be streamed through HBO Now on Sunday night at 9 pm? Or will it be available the next day like with HBO Go?

HBOGO pretty much = HBO Live

They upload shows almost immediately after they are. Most of the movies in rotation are on there and ALL TV Shows are on there.

There's really no difference.

The only difference is the way you subscribe; with or without an existing cable subscription. Link The only option for a live feed without cable currently is to have Sling TV.

Good luck Sunday night, it is going to swarmed. GoT has knocked the HBOGo Servers offline before with the massive amounts of people trying to access it at the same time.

Prior to this almost everyone using the go app to watch got live was using someone's account. HBO knew this so really didn't care about performance. Now that a lot more people will be legitimately using their streaming service, I bet they've beefed up their infrastructure.

People really like watching shows as they air for some reason. Its like those people that watch terrible quality camcorder versions of movies rather than just waiting a month for the high quality dvd version.

Some people don't know how to use torrents and others want to pay for it because it's the right thing to do and is the reason shows like GoT can be made in the first place.

If I didn't watch it live, I wouldn't watch it until Monday after work and it's almost impossible to avoid spoilers on a show like GoT.

Any other gems on HBO on demand that I should check out?

I generally only like comedies and only 30 minute shows.
