:no: that guy is gonna check out soon from the looks of him. Then his ghost writer can come in and finish the books. I dont think i could take another book from Martin anyway as he seems to have totally lost his writing edge. Or we can just read a fashion mag and detailed weather reports to get the same effect as his last 2 books
 
Geez, at this rate, the actors playing Bran and Arya will be adults by the time they ride the ice mammoth army into battle.

I'm almost done with the 2nd book of Malazan, and I won't be going any further in the series.There are parts of the story that are compelling, but mostly he just keeps throwing more and more stuff at the wall, out of nowhere, and then resolves it later in a sentence or two. And the writing is pretty typical fantasy; he never heard the one about 'show, don't tell.'Game of Thrones crushes it across the board IMO.

I made it to about book 5 in the Malazan series waiting for it to get better - never happened. As far as fantasy goes I recommend A Song of Ice and Fire, Patrick Rothfuss' Name of the Wind/Kingkiller Chronicles, and Jim Butcher's Dresden Files.
 
Do the "dragon egg" vids from season 1 exist in one place out there? I never searched for them on the bluray and won't for season2 either. I figure ill enjoy season2 bluray as it comes with digital copy as well. HBO may need DVD money to fund the future seasons!!

The dragons would fly overhead during the Pentos----Slaver's Bay boat trip, no? That is what they are showing, aren't they?
Ah. Forgot about that.
From the preview I guess I assumed the dragon was in "attack mode" but may been reading too much in to it.

ya, Dany and Mormount are standing on the deck of the boat. Looks like they've improved the CGI, which is nice.

We now have names to the season 3 episodes. I will put them in spoilers because, well, they could be and I am commenting on them:

1. “Valar Dohaeris” (all men must serve. Arya isn't away yet, so I wonder what the relevance is here) 2. “Dark Wings, Dark Words” (word of winterfell burning? I forget, did Cat not learn of the boys fake death last season?) 3. “Walk of Punishment” (not sure, maybe Theon gets flayed) 4. “And Now His Watch is Ended” (Mormont gets it?) 5. “Kissed by Fire” (Jon Snow bangs Ygritte's ginger ###?) 6. Still untitled (curious) 7. “The Bear and the Maiden Fair” (I think this is GRRM's episode. From a wiki of ice and fire "Greatjon Umber sings it, drunkenly, at the Red Wedding" so could this be that?) 8. Still untitled (curious still) 9. “The Rains of Castamere” (this was the signal song at the Red Wedding, so maybe this is it and the Bear and Maiden Fair is about Dany and Jorah? This song also could represent Joffrey's wedding, but I feel like that will be in season 4) 10. “Mhysa” (old word for mother. Dany doesn't go on her slave saving rampage until the last episode? They do seem to focus on her in each finale)
 
Is there a way to pay and watch in relative real time? We've watched seasons 1&2 but don't have, and won't be getting,HBO. I would be fully willing to pay a couple bucks/episode and be able to watch them soon after their air time, but when I looked to purchase in iTunes it was only available through the Canadian iTunes Store.

Maybe some of you, my iFriends, could hook a brother up. We are watching the season finale tonite. We are addicted. It's the first thing I e ever illegally downloaded because we rented S1 then couldn't wait for S2 to come out.

Yea. We finished S1 around new year then got 2 a month ago.

Figured one of my questions out concerning names of episodes:
The bear and the maiden fair is when Jaime goes into the bear pit to save brienne. I wonder when he loses his hand though.

Are Robb and Cat at Winterfell witnessing all the destruction? If so, that is divergent from the book. Also, I cannot recall whether they were ever informed about Bran and Rickon and their "demise" there. In the book I know there was a letter, but I feel like that wasn't revealed to Cat in Season 2. Maybe they discover the burned bodies and that causes SOMEthing else different?
 
So, this season is only doing the first 1/2 of Storm of Swords? Darn, that puts less pressure on him to write faster imo.

Meh... not really, since Feast and Dance will probably be merged into 1 season.

Feast and Dance will likely, IMO, be two seasons but combined chronologically in each. So we are probably looking at 8-10 seasons total. Damn, I will be an old man by the time this is over, especially if GRRM takes his time. I wonder what HBO will do if they catch up before GRRM completes the series.
