The sales numbers were starting to stagnate and they were looking for a way to tap into the Latino market.Dos Equis paid marketing people to come up with this?
Also, the original guy is 78 years old. Not sure how much longer he would have been able to make the commercials.

And...? I'm pretty sure anyone could come up with, "Latin, younger version of the most interesting man!" Genius!!!
I miss the radio commercials, especially around Halloween. I read somewhere when they announced they were retiring him that they felt it was time to replace him with someone younger in order to appeal to more millennial's because he was too old. Dumb.
