So what are you watching?
Still working through Dexter and a rewatch of Curb but I downloaded Friday Night Lights and Rome to go along with Six Feet Under which I already had. I will likely hit one of those three next.
oof. Dexter? how far are you?
Middle of Season 6. It has gone a bit down hill. I enjoyed the first 4 seasons more than the last 2. I am a completionist so I will see out what I have left.

You've hit the high point. Season 7 bounces back a little bit but not to the level of 1-4. Season 8 was just ridiculous.

I am working my way through Psych, and loving it. It has it's ridiculous episodes at times, but delivers laughs pretty consistently and I enjoy the story arcs across the whole show. It also has a lot of 80 stars doing guest parts and makes fun of itself from time to time too. I just think it is a very well-done show.

Although the show in general declined after season 4, I thought season 7 was very good.

As for this thread, I'd second the True Detective and Fargo mentions. Even though there will be more seasons, each season is based on a separate plot. And they are both fantastic.

"I have not tried Mad Men. I am not a big fan of that time period but I do know people think the show is very high quality."

If you like Buffy and Babylon do NOT watch Mad Men. You will be lost within 15 minutes.
because it takes a genius to watch a bunch of rich dudes smoke, drink, and cheat on their wives?

I think both shows are great for their genres. IMO, Mad Men is not made for binge watching. I have tried. that is one thing that I usually warn people about when they start the show.

Buffy is the smartest and coolest show that most guys think they are too manly to try. easily in my top 5 favorite shows.

Buffy is a brilliant show. I can see why some might be afraid to try it but it hits all the spots for me since I am not a slave to needing big budget affects.

Series long story arc, season long story arcs, top writing, good acting, good character arcs, tons of eye candy all work for me.

It is just an enjoyable series that does a wonderul job staddling the line between too serious and too laid back.

agree completely, however I could understand somebody starting season 1 and giving up. some quality episodes even in season 1, but there are also praying mantis ladies, hyenas, and possessed computers. a few turds in that first 13 episode run. but then..... Faith!

I don't know if overall it is good, but I saw the first few episodes of Grimm and got an "adult Buffy" vibe.

Currently watching Queer as Folk on Netflix with my wife. I was a little reluctant because of the subject matter. But the acting and storylines are great. Still on season one.

Six Feet Under. I am currently on Season 5 Episode 1 and I love it. It is a fantastic series and am already a little sad knowing it will end in a few episodes

Went back to Fringe season one as I didnt watch the original run until the last episode of season one. Three episodes done. I forgot how much I missed this show. I might have to keep it going and watch all the way through again.

That's good to know. I'm finishing up the first season now. It's solid but not living up to hype yet.

I also just stared Veronica Mars. Still not sure which I'll finish first.

you mean you just finished season 1 of buffy?

I honestly think seasons 2 and 3 rank up there with some of the best seasons of tv I have seen. love their last two years of HS.

Season 1 of Buffy was either the weakest or second weakest season.

However, season 2 is probably the best so if you don't enjoy it after season 2, I would not bother watching any more.

Any of you Buffy fans read the comic that continued where the show left off?

wanted to, but just cant read comics. one of these years I will watch Angel too.
Angel is a nice series. A little darker than Buffy. Watching it in sync with Buffy is really fun because of the cross overs, both subtle and not. They put in subtle touches like a character on Buffy makes a phone call and hangs up. And then in the next episode of Angel you see it from the opposite pov.

Yes, season 8 and 9 are very good. Whedon oversees every issue and they have had awesome writers like Brian K Vaughan take on some issues.

Season 9 has a spin off series as well which is good which focuses on Angel and Faith.
I might have to check it out. I haven't read a comic book since I was a kid but I'm pretty curious to see where it goes.

You should get the first couple of issues of season 8 on torrent to see if you like it.

That's a good idea. I think I'll do that. The artwork looks pretty cool.
