Help interpreting Trade Values on 250 Forward and MyFBG 200 (1 Viewer)

Long time lurker, first time subscriber to the pay content.

Looking for a little advice.

I'm looking at two of the resources that provide values for players to assist in analyzing a few trade combos. I noticed that the two sources have different methods to assign values and when comparing similiar trades under the two different models, the results are quite different. Perhaps I'm misintrepreting the data.

(In an effort to keep the pay content private, i wont list the names)

The first one I was looking at was the 250 Forward.

I'm looking to make an offer on the #10 RB on the list with a value of 1513

Willing to give up the #13 on the list with a value of 1259

So according to these values, I'd need to include a player that has approx. 255 (RB#36 or WR#32) in value to even out the sides.

Looking at the custom 200 Forward on the MyFBG page

That same #10 player (worth 1513 on the other list) is worth 53

That same #13 player (worth 1259 on the other list) is worth 31

The difference is 22. But the 22 on this system is a much higher value and would require (RB#22 or WR #13) to even it out.

In short, I'm wondering which source you guys use when trying to determine values for players.

thanks,

Pats

I don't know for sure, but I'd assume the MyFBG 200 Forward is tailored to your scoring system, while the 250 Forward is generic. Does your league use PPR or something? It may affect the values of players across positions or something...I've always used the 250 Forward (with a bit of common sense)... I haven't even checked out most of the MyFBG features (it's new this year).

Hi tomarken-- I used the Standard FBG Scoring for the MyFBG projections,, so I think they are using same scoring systems.

I have some of the same questions, I use it for a ppr 3 wr and 2 qb league, but the values dont seem to match up right as far as value goes. Any way there can be a trade value put into the MyFBG ...Something to be looked into?

I believe the 200 list value is saying what the auction value would be today if you were to redraft the player, considering a $200 cap.

The point value on the 250 list is more in line with the good old fashioned trade value chart.

Ya think?

"Customized Top 200 list for Standard League

The values are computed based on the general principles outlined in this article. They can be interpreted as trade values and they correspond to auction values in a $200 cap league with a minimum bid of $1.

The values here inorporate projected rest-of-season fantasy points and scheduled bye weeks (all else equal, players who have had their bye have more forward value than those who haven't). If you want this list customized to a particular future week or set of weeks (e.g. you'd like a top 200 list that places extra value on players with good playoff matchups), please check out the Lineup Dominator.

NOTE: In most cases, the "Top 200" list doesn't contain exactly 200 players. We call it a Top 200 list for historical reasons."
