help me with an investment opportunity (1 Viewer)

It's a nutrition vitamin store like a gnc.only experience I know is he body build :P

he currently is a warehouse manager for a large furniture company.

he had flipped 2 houses on his own.
NFW.
that's how I feel but it does intrigue me on possibly missing out
What is it that you think you will miss out on? This isn't going to be like the next Google. This is buy for $1 and sell for $1.10. It's hard to imagine a scenario in which you will really be missing out on something great.

ten years from now the BIL will have opened up his 100th vitamin store and be deep in conversation with China for international representation.

Good point. Thanks all. This is one thing I'm embarrassed to say I don't have much knowledge in

I would definitely be in if he flipped another house.

this not so much

guess I'll stick with the lottery
I don't know how many houses he has done, the spread or your local market, but if he is stressed due to having to work while also doing the flipping, is there a way for him to grind it out a bit longer with you as a partner in flipping the houses and work towards that full time. My thoughts are, starting a business is going to be just like working full time and flipping houses on the side, anyway.

Now that you mention it, the Chinese market is a great opportunity for American dietary supplements. The Chinese products available in China are either of greatly inferior quality or are flat-out contaminated and everyone I know who has family in China brings American vitamins and herbal supplements to their family and friends whenever they go there. The problem with importing into China commercially is the tariffs... those can run 100% of the the product's value, which makes the American products very expensive in China, but if they can get the same thing brought in via a traveler's suitcase, it seems they can't buy enough at that price.

Never invest in a business you can't go watch in operation.
meaning - never put money in a small cap stock index because you can't watch all the companies in operation?
My apologies. Never invest in a non-publicly traded partnership or sole proprietorship business you can't go watch in operation.
How about a Dunkin' Donuts franchise? Almost all of the franchisees have multiple locations and they can't be everywhere all the time.

Unless someone had a really compelling business plan, retail would be one of the last sectors where I'd want to invest.

Seven. This rule is so underrated:

Keep your family and business completely separated.

Money and blood don't mix. Like two ##### and no #####;

Find yourself in serious ####.
