As a kid I grew up all over the south, but mostly Alabama. Since I never had a "hometown" team, I never had a favorite team as a kid, even though baseball was my favorite sport. Even though I had no favorite team, I had two least favorite teams, the Braves and Yankees. Out of this hatred of the Yankees, I started following the Red Sox while in high school (88-91).

The past couple of years, due to going to some Reds game, I've started following and cheering for the Reds. Is it ok to switch? I've always preferred the NL game to the AL game.

It's not like I'm bandwagon jumping here, going from a WS contender to a mediocre .500 club.

Discuss.

reds are a good buy-low team right now. and of course the NL game is better to watch. come on over.

Since it doesn't appear you were a die-hard fan (perhaps you "followed closely" :lmao: ), I see no problem with you finally choosing a team.

I would advocate an AL team, but since you like inferior baseball... :lmao: :lmao:

This thread title lead me to think there was going to be some homosexual content within. My mistake.

You never really HAD a team. Jump away!

suppose i could cheer for both. odds of a Red Sox/Reds WS seem pretty slim.
Statistically due every 35 years. Last one was 1975, so the next one should be in...After doing lots of business travel in Detroit and Atlanta, I developed a "rooting interest" in the Tigers and Braves. Eventually waned but I still watch them when I can. Following the Twins some now that I catch a few of their minor league games. I don't feel guilty.

OK, I can be a Tiger fan again. Single A affiliate moving into the area. Now I can catch the Tigers (A) and Twins (AA) on a regular basis. Red Sox (AAA) not too far of a drive but a bit of a hassle.

For the past ten years I have been threatening to leave the Reds for the Red Sox, but every Spring the Reds seduce me into thinking this will be the year they will be competitive and I don't jump ship. Son of a gun if they didn't do it again this year by finishing strong this past fall, signing Chapman this winter. Bastards have me hooked again.

Also, the only fantasy beisbol league i play in is a NL only 10 team 5x5. Additionally, most of the Red Sox fans on this board are tremendous dooshes.

i think i'm switching from:

1. Red Sox

2. Reds

to

1. Reds

2. Red Sox

While this team should be MUCH better this season, 2011 seems to be the year when this team goes into the season as a favorite to win the Central. They can compete for a spot this year if a lot of things break right, but next season should be a doozy!

Lifetime Astros fan recently hopped over to the Rangers. The front office/ownership just killed any love I felt for the team. Go Rangers!
